Title of the text: Treasure Island
Author: Robert Louis Stevenson
Two events that took place during the life of the author.
1) He was originally baptized as Robert Lawes Balfour, but when he was twenty years old,
his father had him changed the name Lawes to the French version Louis to avoid
associations with a radical politician of the same name.
2) After a bronchitis he ended his regular school attendance and began receiving private
lessons.
While reading this story, specifically chapter 2, I related it intimately with the life of the
human being, volatile, difficult and unpredictable, the question is not knowing how to give
up.
I think this aspect is posed in this way because he wants to show the reader in a didactic
and different way how to deal with the problems and they are already responsible for
interpreting the story in their own way.
If you ask me about this story, I have to tell you that: It is a fiction not far from reality. it is
evident all kinds of circumstances that if analyzed in a deeper way is what we live day by
day. When you read this story keep in mind not to take it so literal, let your mind fly!
My first impression when I began to read the beginning of this story was taken in a very
sarcastic way, I did not want to read it and I thought that I would not like it, in addition,
when I got to the part that all the pirates faced I felt confused and I was still bored, but at
the end of the story, it changed my perspective, because I decided not to take the story so
literal and began to relate it to my life, that helped me immensely and motivated me to
continue reading until I liked it
While reading this story, I really wanted to give up reading it, but as the prose went on, I
became more engaged with the story and began to relate it to my life.
I think this aspect was fundamental because it allowed me to get more hooked on the
story and also made me appreciate it.
