We do this until
there’s no more
fire. The whole
spell takes
around half an
hour to be
complete. When

Purification
This spell is another very simple spell. You'll need:
I do hope so ;D
Necessary items:
● Apple peel;
● Some peppermint leaves;
● Honey;
● Hot water;
Necessary items:
To start this rite, first you have to mix the water with
the coarse salt and put the stones in, so they can
be energized for 24 hours by the Moon and by the
Sun. Start this during the evening.
After this period, bury the stones and let the Earth
energize them for 24 hours more. The next day,
take the stones again and put them inside the small
black bag while you ask the Goddess to send all
the spells cast against you to the stones, so the
spells can be neutralized.
After this, put the herbs inside the bag and ask
them to protect you.
Now make 7
knots on the
black ribbon (or
thread) and use it
to seal the bag.
Dedicate it to the
New Moon and
keep it
somewhere safe
where no one
besides you can
find it.
Additional Comment

● Your Athame;
● 4 red candles;

Release the circle.
What is a Blue Moon?
In a few words, a Blue Moon happens whenever we
have two Full Moons in a single month. We usually
have 4 weeks each month and one Moon phase in
each one. The Lunar cycle has approximately 28 to
29 days and the calendar we use nowadays is the
Solar one, thus, the Blue Moon happens once in a
while.
Athame
The Athame is a magickal instrument used for
magickal purposes. It is similar to a dagger, but it’s
blade usually doesn’t cut. It is mainly used to direct
energies and for opening and closing the magick
circle.
Bay Leaves
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Bay has the following powers:
“Protection, Psychic Powers, Healing, Purification,
Strength”. Everytime we burn Bay leaves for
prosperity we are also asking for protection and
purification and, of course, we are attracting energy
and strength to receive and to maintain prosperity
and good work.
Black Tourmaline
According to Jennie Harding’s Crystals, the Black
Tourmaline can be used for “enhancing psychic
protection of the body and energy system, acting as
a shield against negativity”. For more information
about the Black Tourmaline, we recorded a video.
Candles
Candles are excellent tools to enhance our spells.
They work with fire, the element of transformation
and action. They are consumed by the fire, thus
attracting or banishing what we want. Some say
that whenever you light a candle, you open a portal.
So, before lighting one, dedicate it to a Deity or to
an Elemental being, so this portal will be secured.
Different colours can help you achieve your goals.
Cauldron
The Womb. Where everything is born, to where
everything must return. I think the Cauldron is the
number one item for every Witch. Inside it you can
perform many different kinds of spells.
Cinnamon
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Cinnamon has these powers:
“Spirituality, Success, Healing, Power, Psychic
Powers, Lust, Protection, Love”. It’s very common
to blow some Cinnamon powder every first day of
the month to attract prosperity. Cinnamon incenses
are great for material success and also for
protection.
Clove
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Clove can be used for: “Protection,
Exorcism, Love, and Money”. I always use Clove
for total protection.
Coal
Coal is a transforming ingredient. You can use it to
draw symbols and sigils, to write incantations, to
create art and to burn and transform things.
Coarse Salt
Coarse Salt is one the purest things we can find
here on Earth. It contains the Purple Light, which
can purify things and send evil energies away. This
ingredient is perfect for protection and having some
around your home is an excellent idea!
Coffee grains
Coffee is used for divination, for prosperity,
protection and success. Not only its grains, but the
beverage is also used in magick.
Colours
The power of colours is so immense that we see
them all the time in propaganda. They are not there
by accident. The magickal power of colours is
underestimated by many people. By attributing
colours to candles, for example, we can direct our
energies easily. Crystals and colours are also
correlated.
Crystal
Gifts from our Mother Earth. These natural
“instruments” have their own energies, just like
herbs and plants. It’s always good to have some
crystals around you.
Elementals
The Four Elementals are: Gnomes (Earth), Undines
(Water), Salamanders (Fire) and Sylphs (Air).
Working with them is light and pleasant. It is always
good to have some spaces in your house for them
like a garden, fountain, fireplace or a fixed place for
fire/candles and wind chimes, for example.
Esbat
Term used to describe a Witchy celebration under a
Full Moon. While we usually have one Esbat per
month (or two with the Blue Moon), we always have
eight Sabbats, which are the Solar Celebrations.
Fairies
Fairies are full of light beings often considered to be
Elementals, similar to Sylphs. Their energy is very
light and pure. There are many different kinds of
fairies, and some of them are not so friendly. Don’t
mistreat them.
Fire
The element of transformation, energy and
purification. Fire has these and many other
attributes.
Garlic
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Garlic is used for: “Protection,
Healing, Exorcism, Lust, Anti-Theft”. It was also
dedicated to Goddess Hekate and left for her as an
offering. If you need a powerful spell for dealing
with evil energies, work with Hekate’s powers!
Check a video we made with a tutorial.
Honey
Honey is used alongside with milk for prosperity,
abundance and health. Rituals in Imbolc are usually
made with these two ingredientes. They can be
poured on the earth for fertility.
Incenses
Incenses are used for a long time as a way to
communicate with Deities and spirits. It is said that
the smoke is capable of reaching the Gods and
delivering them our messages. Besides that,
incenses are made with herbs and flowers, so they
bring many different properties and can help us in
the practice of meditation.
Lavender
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Lavender can be used for: “Love,
Protection, Sleep, Chastity, Longevity, Purification,
Happiness, and Peace”. Lavender has also the
ability to bring prosperity and to attract consumers
and potentially help in selling things to them.
Mantras
Mantas are chants in which words and sentences
are repeated for achieving a specific goal. You can
create your own mantra or you can listen and chant
a great variety of mantras. The most common ones
are from India and they are usually dedicated to
Hindu Deities.
Mugwort
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Mugwort is used for: “Strength,
Psychic Powers, Protection, Prophetic Dreams,
Healing, Astral Projection”. Mugwort’s scientific
name is Artemisia vulgaris and the plant is mainly
associated with the Goddess Artemis.
Onyx
According to Jennie Harding’s Crystals, the Black
Onyx is used for “helping to restore the system if it
is overloaded because of excess pressure” and to
“encourage inner stillness and helping focus during
meditation”, among other things.
Peppermint Leaves
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Peppermint is used for:
“Purification, Sleep, Love, Healing, and Psychic
Powers”. You can also use Peppermint for
prosperity spells.
Pins
Pins are used in Witchcraft and Voodoo practices
for a long time. Similar to nails, pins have the ability
to direct energy and to stick these energies to
specific places or subjects.
Roses
Red Roses are associated with love, passion, self
care and inspiration. You can use Red Rose petals,
incense or oil for your spells.
Rue
According to Scott Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of
Magickal Herbs, Rue is used for: “Healing, Health,
Mental Powers, Exorcism, and Love”. Rue is
excellent for banishing evil energies.
Sea Water
Sea Water is capable of washing every bad energy
away. If you live close to the beach, you’re probably
used to take some sea baths and performing some
cleansing. Taking some Sea Water to your home is
also a good practice.
Snake Plant
Snake Plant is known here in Brazil as “Espada de
São Jorge” (Saint George’s Sword) or “Espada de
Santa Bárbara” (Saint Barbara’s Sword). São Jorge
is related to Ogum and Santa Bárbara is related to
Oyá (Iansã). Both of them are related to protective
powers.
Triple Goddess
The Triple Goddess is the representation of all the
Woman’s faces in one: The Young/Maiden, The
Mother and The Crone. In many different cultures
we see the number 3 as a special number and her
faces are also common. Sometimes it’s not explicit,
but we can find this “triple” correlations among
Goddesses in all Mythologies. These faces are also
related to the Moon Phases: Waxing, Full and
Waning. The New Moon is considered to be part of
the “hidden” or “dark” phase.
Wooden spoon
The wooden spoon is an instrument used for mixing
brews and spells. It’s commonly used with a
Cauldron. If you have a good one, you can even
use it directly on fire. It won’t burn.
