II. Further Instructions

1. To help you, there are resources available in the attachments for blocks. (file name:
blocks.dwg)

2. For layers, lineweights and linetype. Follow general instructions below:

3. The motive of the submission is to understand how to make a professional architectural

Auto-cad drawing with your own house. You are to integrate the topics we have discussed so far
into making your drawing. Quality of drawing is more important than the quantity of
information presented.

4. Use mm (millimeters) as units. For text and dimensions use Arial regular and for the height of
text it can be up to you as long as it emphasize and not too big as the drawing itself.

This last two instructions are not applicable with the situation so far.. But I wanted you to
know how to set up your paper ready to print and scaled, refer to 1.

5. Each plan is to fit within 297mm x 420mm (A3) printable area.

- an instruction of how to print will also be attached in a pdf file.
- title block will also be given.
- scale depends on the print area.

6. You are suggested to take a print of your drawing and further edit your lineweights and
linetypes before submitting. A greyscale / monochrome / colored drawing is allowed.
III. Other Matters:

1. You can use any tools for measurements, use approximation.

2. If you have a Lot Title/Lot Plan of your house then it will make your work easier but if you
don’t have then just have an approximate measurement.
3. I will be personally checking your file without the others seeing it so be honest of your
drawing.
4. Don’t put unnecessary things which are not part of your house. If you want to experiment
then put it beside your house. Example you want to draw also your dream house then you can do
that once you are finish with this activity.
5. This time its you will be working with your own judgement so please don’t ask also
unnecessary questions. There are available YouTube videos online to see samples.

IV. TO THOSE WITHOUT AUTOCAD

1. Make use of your time to do it free hand just like the example on page 1, don’t use Autocad
but an ordinary paper, any paper will do for now. Just as long as you use 1:10 scale or any scale
you think the paper you had can have just indicate what scale you are using. Any pen will also do.
2. The other thing we can do is to wait until classes resume to make this in school to those
without CAD.
3. Don’t worry too much about this. I will give you time to finish this activity as much as possible
and I will promise that. But again we could not do that without Auto-cad. :(

Note: This activity will serve as your Midterm Exam if you can complete thus far the
