Activated Charcoal
Activated Charcoal is a must in every household alongside baking soda and essential oils. This beauty
secret has been used for decades and has risen in popularity for its natural benefits. It is mainly known
for cleansing the body of toxins such as pesticides and chemicals in food packaging.
In this article, I'll talk about DIY products that you can make with Activated Charcoal to make your life
simpler and more beautiful.

skin to ensure you don’t have any reactions or allergic. 2) When intaking activated charcoal, it must be
used occasionally.

DIY # 1: ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FACE MASK

Would you believe that something that looks like dirt will help in cleansing your skin? Activated
charcoal helps to alleviate skin problems (oily skin, acne etc.) by absorbing toxins. This face mask
doesn't only cleanse your face but also detox it leaving your face looking flawless.
Ingredients:
• 6 capsules of Activated Charcoal ( You'll extract the powder from the capsules)
• 1 Tbsp of Aloe Vera Gel
• 1/2 tbsp of water
• 2 drops of tea tree oil

DIY #2: ACTIVATED CHARCOAL TOOTHPASTE

It’s no big deal since you can buy toothpaste with activated charcoal. But if you’re like me who love to
create your own stuff then you’ll skip that.  Activated Charcoal is actually a natural teeth whitening
agent and helps to reduce cavities, tooth decay, and bad breath. Activated Charcoal does that by binding
to the microscopic elements that stain the teeth. This makes your smile much brighter!
Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp bentonite clay
• 4 tbsp water
• 15 drops peppermint
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp activated charcoal
Caution: 1)Always use a glass, plastic or wooden container. No metal! 2) Use this toothpaste 2-3 times
per week.

DIY # 3: MASCARA
I hardly wear fake eyelashes but I love when my natural eyelashes are popping. If you have a problem
in finding the right mascara due to volume and thickness then this may be an excellent option for you.
This option is natural and you will know exactly what you're putting around your eyes.
Ingredients:
• 2 tsp coconut oil
• 4 tsp aloe vera gel
• 1/2  – 1 tsp beeswax pellet
• 1 – 2 capsules of activated charcoal (for black) or cocoa powder (for brown)
• A mascara container

DIY # 4: Hangover Prevention and Alcohol Poisoning

I don’t consume alcohol but for those who love to party then this is a great option. Activated Charcoal
will be able to absorb the toxic effect that can contribute to poisoning.
Not only does this prevent hangovers but it’s also natural. For more information on how Activated
Charcoal actually eliminates hangover check out this Research.

DIY # 5: Detox Drink

DIY #6: Lighten Dark Armpit

This is every girl's nightmare! Well mine (Hahaha). This all-natural ingredient can brighten your
underarm in 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1 tsp of activated charcoal or 2-3 capsules of activated charcoal
Not only does it brighten your armpit but detox it as well.
Caution: Activated charcoal can stain your clothes so ensure you put on something that you don't care
much about.

DIY #7: Air Purification

Activated Charcoal will absorb unpleasant odors and help to reduce the effect of undesired toxins.
• To purify the air, you’ll fill a pouch with activated charcoal and place it where you desired (car,
bedroom, even in your shoes) and let it stay until the unpleasant scent has gone. This is
reusable for at least 3 months.
• To remove odors from the refrigerator, mix baking soda and charcoal in a small container and
place it in your refrigerator. This mixture must not stay longer 30 days.
