Nicaragua Christian Academy: Lower Elementary Teacher
Lower elementary students also have the following specials (taught by other teachers): Spanish (50
minutes daily), Physical Education (twice per week), and Art, Music and Computers (once per week).
During these classes, the classroom teacher has planning time.
In addition to the general education teachers, there is a dedicated educational assistant for 1st grade
and 2nd grade, and a shared educational assistant for 3rd-4th grades. The primary focus of the EA
is to provide learning support with students needing additional assistance in the classroom. In
addition to that, the EA assists the teacher with preparing classroom materials, translating parent
communication, and a limited amount of grading homework assignments.
