Double Attack

Hi, how are you doing today? Hope you are keeping well! I
would like to take two minutes of your time to discuss
something interesting to you and me. I am talking about Chess.
Today, we are going to introduce a new tactical instrument
known as -Double attack. This type of attack - simultaneous
attack by a single unit on two hostile units - is the very
essence of chess.
The Queen, with her wide cruising range and ability to attack in
several directions by vertical, lateral, and diagonal moves, is
the ideal piece for the double attack.
A Fork, a double attack, is particularly dangerous. Let's see a
position. In this position Black can win with enough fire power
against Queen, Rook and Bishop. But White's next move
dampened all the dreams of Black. Can you find the move?
Yes, you are right. The White Queen moves to d4 and it's a
double attack - a checkmate threat on g7 and an attack on the
Knight sitting supportless at square a7. Black has to give up
his Knight as he has to save his King from the checkmate
attack.
Then White should win in this position with his strong d6 pawn
and fire-power of White Queen. This is a very simple single
move double attack problem - a fork by the Queen that we
solved. Now you understand what's a Double Attack.
To reinforce our knowledge about double attack, let's check
one more position. In this position, white is dangerously
constrained in the back rank, and Black is threatening mate by
Rook on g1. Is there any way, White can save his King? Yes, of
course, It is White to move....
Yes, White can activate his Queen by playing her to d4. White
not only parries the threat of checkmate on g1, but the Queen
at d4 poses threats to Black's Rook and Knight. Now Black
needs to save his pieces from Queen fork.
The best remedy for Black is to bring the Knight close to King at
the square b4 where the King can support his Knight.
White should keep on attacking the Black King till the time a
fork between King and Rook comes through because the Rook
is sitting supportless far away from the Back King. It's possible
in this wide open board, because the Queen is such a versatile
powerful piece.
Now a transition happens. In case the Black King moves to b3
square, there is a Queen fork at h3 - an attack on the King at b3
and the Black Rook at g2 simultaneously.
So the Black King goes to a5. Queen d8 check. Black King
moves to b5. Queen b8 check and King to c4. Queen f4 check;
King to c5. Qf8+ Black King to c4 and the Queen gives double
attack on the Black King and the Rook on f1. And Black resigns.
