Pile Load Test Method Statement for Working bored piles
1. SCOPE
This document applies to Static Pile Load Test Method of bored piles as carried out by
Fugro Geotechnics Vietnam LLC (FGV).
2. REFERENCE
- Standard JTJ106-2003 “Technical Code for Testing of Building Foundation Piles”
- Standard GB50007-2002 “Code for Design of Building Foundation”
- Standard GB50202-2002 “Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Building
Foundation”

foundations Under Static Axial Compressive Load”
- Standard JGS 1811-2002 “Method for Static Axial Compressive Load Test of Single
Piles”
The vertical static pile load test will be carried out to verify compressive bearing
capacities and settlement curve of axially loaded piles. This test method is according to
Standard JTJ106-2003 “Technical Code for Testing of Building Foundation Piles”
The apparatus for applying load consists of hydraulic jack operated under a hydraulic
pump with pressure gauge. The following apparatus for applying load will be used in

the test:
The reaction system contains test beams, loading frames, dead weights. The loading
frame is constructed by a system of cross beams. The following reaction system will be
used (the beam capacities are shown in Appendix B):
Vertical Static Pile Load Test: will be carried out after 28 days of concrete curing and
after Sonic Logging Test and Pile Integrity Test and Pile Dynamic Analysis Test (PDA) if
required.
Preparation for test pile head: the test pile head will be flat and smooth;
Mobilization of test equipment to test site: by heavy - duty truck and crane;
Beam installation
Deadweight loading

Pile Load Test Method Statement for Working bored piles
Adding concrete blocks during loading test: For avoiding to the ground settlement,
150%-200% design load of deadweight will be loaded firstly and the test load will
be applied to 150%-200% of designed load. After that, the deadweight will be
loaded more in corresponding to each increment of test load. The detailed reaction
load (deadweight) is shown in Table Loading schedule.
Following each application of an increment of load the load shall be held for not less
than the period shown in Table 1 or until the rate of settlement is less than
0.25mm/30minutes. Each load increment and decrement shall be maintained for the
specified time interval as shown in Table 1.
Record test readings taken before and after the application of each load increment or
decrement. During each load interval, provided that the test pile or pile group has not
failed, record additional readings taken at 0, 1, 2, 5, 10 and 15 min following application
of the load increment, and every 15 min thereafter as needed. After applying the total
load, provided that the test pile or pile group has not failed, record additional readings
taken at 0, 1, 2, 5, 10 and 15, then every 15 min up to 1hrs, then every hour from 1 to 6
hrs, and then every 2 hrs from 6 to 12 hrs as needed
The readings are subsequently imported into a spreadsheet for analysis and reporting.

7. HSE CONTROL
The Health & Safety & Environment aspects of FGV’s QHSE System (ISO 9001, OHSAS
18001, ISO 14001) will be applied at the site. FGV’s QHSE Manager and Site Manager
will be responsible for monitoring the safety practices of staff and/or subcontractor
personnel, and will ensure that all operations comply with FGV’s QHS system and policy.
In case of any emergency arising due to injury, the injured personnel will be taken to a
nearby clinic or hospital for immediate attention. Advice of the emergency doctor will be
followed as appropriate. FGV’s Site Manager will be responsible for reporting any incident
on site involving his staff to the Client’s Representative and to the Project Manger.
8. PRECAUTIONS
FGV shall not be held responsible for any damage or movement to adjacent services,
buildings, utilities and underground structure of any type resulting from our works unless
previously specifically agreed and in limits of guarantees to be fixed prior to the beginning
of the works.
The Client should provide FGV the right to access to the site for the subsurface
investigation works, including the provision of all necessary permits for our works.
The Client should provide bench marks and temporary bench marks for monitoring points
for our use, a secure storage facility and lay down area.
