Mother's Day and Vastu
Mother's Day and Vastu
Mother's Day and Vastu
A famous saying states that "God could not be everywhere and so he invented
mothers", these words are a great inspiration to mothers across the world. When
all is well, a mother puts her children before anything else, including their own
comfort and happiness. Nothing can come close to the love that a mother feels
for her children. Most women are inherently excellent mothers. Women carry
their young before they are born and then continue to nurture them throughout
their childhood and even into adulthood. Thus, every year a day has been set
aside to appreciate the role of a mother, and the day is called Mother's Day.
Considering it to be a great opportunity I had tried to list out some guidelines
based on the Vastu principles for every stage of motherhood.
Vastu Shastra is an ancient architectural science that balances the five elements
(Earth Air Water Fire and Space) and supports stress free living or working
spaces. As mother knows only one thing, no matter whether her children are
good or bad, she goes all out to dole out her love and support, similarly the Earth
gives us just about everything and anything irrespective of the kind of people who
live on it. As an integral part of this earth, we live in a sea of electromagnetic and
stellar influences. Every particle of energy is linked to the next particle. Every
shift occurring in this atmosphere has the potential to affect our lives and actions.
According to Vastu Shastra, the sun produces different qualities of energy on its
path from east to west and can influence our existence right from birth till death.
Conceiving Mothers:
Best place for a couple planning to conceive a child, is South West room of there
house. In fact South West zone of a dwelling is considered to be place of Mother
Earth in Vastu Shastra. Keeping a bed room brings stability in the life of
occupants and also helps in smooth conceiving. Alternatively newly wed couples
can have their bed room in North adjacent to North West corner. However they
should keep their head towards south (The human body also has a magnetic
field having its head as North Pole, hence when head is kept in South it aliens
itself with Earths electro magnetic lines and we get undisturbed sound sleep).
The bedroom is linked with the intimacy of a loving relationship. A cluttered
bedroom increases the probability of couple being exhausted most of the time,
leaving no time for a sensual union. If you do not keep it clean at both visible and
invisible levels, then you will feel that you are getting churlish and loosing sleep.

Further we must under stand the development of baby in the womb to co relate it
with our ancient Vastu Shastra.
During 13to 16 Weeks the development of baby happens as under: More muscle
tissue and bones have developed, and the bones become harder. The fetus
makes active movements. Sucking motions are made with the mouth. The liver
and pancreas produce fluid secretion. As all the development can be related to
mother earth hence the wood be mother should spent her maximum time in
South West room.
This is the period when fetus growth is all-round. During 19th week Eyebrows and
eyelashes appear. Nails appear on fingers and toes. The fetus is more active
with increased muscle development. And in 27th week The Brain develops
rapidly. The Nervous System develops enough to control some body functions.
Hence this is the time when pregnant mother-to-be should live in North East
(Eeshan) zone of the house. This area is considered to be blessed with spiritual
& cosmic energies.

The Post Delivery:
After the Child birth when Mother and child returns home their bed room should
be in the south-west corner.
Ayurveda says, “42 Days for 42 Years” is the impact of nourished food
immediately postpartum on health and ability to mother and child. Little things
can make such a big difference at this time. Hence utmost care is needed for the
nourishment of Postpartum Mothers.
- For health, wealth, harmony and happiness, Brahmasthan (the center of house)
should be left open and is free of obstructing objects.
-Would be mother should never sleep under the beam as it causes pain,
depending on which portion of the body part is facing the beam.
-She should not keep a mirror in front of the bed, and it’s also not advisable to
keep broken mirror at home.
-Home should be clutter-free and the waste basket should never be kept in the
north-east corner of the room.
- For the walls, grey, black and brown colours be avoided because it creates a
pessimistic attitude. Preferred colours include, off-white, light blue or light green.
Such colours make one feel fresh, enthusiastic and have a buzzing creative
mind.
- Since blue colour has a cooling and astringent effect, a soft zero candle bulb,
which lights the room during night, is recommended. The other two soothing
colures are violet and indigo these can also be alternated during the entire period
of pregnancy.

GRAND MOTHERS ROOM:
On mothers day we must not forget our Grandmothers. Let us see what vastu
suggests for them. Each of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air and space) is
associated with a direction and each directional zone has a specific impact on
our health. Different aspects of positive aging are optimally supported by a
specific direction. Aging is also affected by environmental stress, which is the
cause of most human disease. However as per vastu the south room of the
house would be the best for grand mother/ parents.
