HORTATORY EXPOSITION

Is it important to know what your kids are watching? Of course, yes. Television can expose things you have
tried to protect them from, especially violence, pornography, consumerism, etc.
A study demonstrated that spending too much time on watching TV during the day or at bedtime
often causes bedtime disruption, stress and short of sleep duration.
Another research found that there is a significant relationship between the amount of time spent
for watching television during adolescence and early adulthood, and the possibility of being aggressive.
Meanwhile, many studies have identified a relationship between kids who watch TV a lot and
being inactive and overweight.

In this modern era, there are still some parents who are reluctant about sending their daughter
to collage. The narrow attitude shown to women’s education is largely due to the traditional role of
women in society. A woman is expected to be a wife and mother. Most parents believe that if their
daughters get married and choose to be housewives, then the higher education will be a waste.
However, an educated woman is not only better wife but also contributes something to the society.
Nowadays, more and more woman are successfully combining their career and marriage.
Educated women are richer both emotionally and financially. They are able to find and outlet for their
monotonous drudgery of their housekeeping. They bring more satisfaction and contentment to their
lives.
Depriving girls of higher education is crash discrimination. Times have changed; modem society
needs the talents of its people regardless of gender. Today, women work after alongside men. In fact,
in the last few decades, women have made outstanding contribution to society.
Women should be given the freedom to be educated whether or not they get married or to go
to work after finishing their education because it is only through education that a woman will find
herself useful and discover what she wants in life. A woman who works is not an insult to her husband.
Conversely, her husband should feel proud of her achievements since marriage is actually an equal
partnership.
Therefore, parents should not think that girls should receive less education just they will get
married one day.

Nowadays you can see many commercials on TV. Why? Because the TV stations give chances to
many companies to advertise their services and products to TV viewers. And it is a fact that every ten
or fifteen minutes your favorite programmes are disrupted by commercial breaks.
But then, whether we like it or not TV commercials contribute to consumerism. It means that
people who see them intend to buy anything they see, though, they don’t really need it.
You know, there are some reasons why it happens. First, visual advertisements are presented in
attractive ways. They show you how good the products or services are. They use very nice words that
persuade people to buy or to use them.
Then, since they are presented in visual ways, people will see what the products or services look
like. Besides, models express how delighted they are with the products or services. They try to
persuade the viewer that the products or services are very good. This, of course, influences people to
use or consume the products or services.
So change your TV channels every time there are commercial breaks. Or you can read a
newspaper or magazine when TV stations broadcast them.

Should Americans be forced to Public Transportation?

First, let me define what the question is and isn’t asking. It isn’t asking if we should we all
abandon cars right now, nor is it asking if we should abandon them completely, nor is it
asking if every American should do so. It is asking weather some Americans should have to
take public transit some of the time, and I would say yes.

Oil use and pollution aside, in some cities like Los Angeles and New York there just isn’t
room for any more roads, so in order for large cities to grow, they need more people to take
public transit or risk permanent traffic jam. One bus can safely hold 40 people so even at
half capacity that’s nearly 20 cars’ worth of space in traffic cleared up, and nearly 20 parking
spaces that  don’t need to built.

There are a lot of people that can take  with transit little inconvenience but simply don’t
because they never have in the past. If residents in areas with plenty of transit had to buy
transit passes as part of their property taxes then they would have little excuse not to bus
occasionally. QA number of universities already bundle a ‘U-Pass’ with their tuition feeds,
forcing their students to take the bus. When given the change the majority of those
students have voted to keep these programs.

A similar system in apartments where a portion of the tenants are not issued parking spaces
in exchange for a discount on their rent would also be community car to several apartment
tenants that arrange a schedule for the car, and this program gets many positive reviews.

So yes, I would say that Americans should be forced to use public transit, as Americans
whom are already forced to do so find that it works well for them.
