ALIGNMENT FIXING:
For every 250mtrs interval the concrete bench mark Pillar is fixed
along the project alignment (from KM.336.000 to 376.000) at the
end of R.O.W. Location and chainage is marked at site with paint.
The Pillar is used for fixing the Bench Mark.
G.P.S Pillar (every 5km.interval) the level traversing has been done
retaining the R.L (Reduced Level) of G.P.S.Pillar (G.P.S Level given
by N.H.A.I).During the time of traversing the level, the levels are
transferred over every 250m.interval bench Mark control pillars
also. During Bench Mark level transferring maximum observing
distance was 100m.keeping the foresight and back sight distance
equal. The spread between observed ranges of vertical angles did
not exceed 10 seconds. The closing error on a level circuit did not
exceed 12√K in mm. (where K is distance in km.).The closing error
has been distributed to all the Bench mark in earth work in between
G.P.S to G.P.S.The Bench Mark Pillar (B.M.P) level is checked by
client.
The toe line will fixed for the every layer by means of calculating
the thickness of pavement layer multiplied by percentage of given
formation slope. The toe distance will be measured from given
alignment nail. The cross section drawings also can be followed for
toe line marking.

plate of minimum 6mm thickness.
Reinforcement rod mesh not less than 20mm dia at 150mm
centers in both directions shall be placed over the steel plates.
Steel plate and reinforcements shall be inspected after every
blasting operation and all twists shall be removed before reuse to
the satisfaction of the Engineer.
The thickness of the covering plate and the kind of dead weight
is to be duly approved by the Engineer. When blasting is
necessary adjacent in partially of completely built structures the
contractor Engineer shall take all precautions necessary to
prevent flying rock from causing damage to the structures.
Holes shall be filled by a licensed short firer / blaster
A siren shall be sounded to warn everyone in the vicinity of the
area before the blasting.
The blasting foremen shall blast the charge at a fix time, after
duly ensuring that all everything is clear.
The blasting foremen shall inspect the blast area to ensure that
all the holes have been blasted.
Removal of material from the existing road if during the blast
any of the material has fallen on the road the same shall be
removed immediately within a stipulated timeframe.
The blasted muck shall be removed and disposed off at identified
location.
If required levels we shall be taken after blasting in order to
decide the next stage of blasting.
We are Submitting copy of certificate for Blasting.

The surrounding villagers shall be given details of the blasting
timings to be followed daily.
The village head shall be given clear details regarding the work in
progress and the necessary precaution to be taken their side.
A trench shall be excavated along the road to ensure that loose
boulders do not roll on to the road
Traffic supervisor shall be available during the time of blast to
control the traffic.
Traffic shall be stopped up to 500 meters on either side before
sounding the siren. The traffic shall resume after the road is
checked for any boulders that have fallen during the blast.
A random check shall be carried out to ensure that no one is in the
vicinity of the blast affected area.
A siren shall be sounded 5 min before blasting to warn the people in
the surroundings.
No person shall be allowed to enter the blasted area until the
blasting foremen has checked the area for un-blasted charged
holes.
In case of any emergency, Project manager shall ensure that those
proper decisions are taken.

KM; 376+000 OF NH-7 IN THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH PACKAGE – ADB / II C- 13
GENERAL:
This method describes the laying of Granular Sub Base over prepared Sub Grade as per
drawing and Technical Specification section- 401 from Km336+0 00 to Km376+000
Mechanical Crusher Plant & Screening Unit,Plugmil mixing plant, Tippers, Hydraulic Motor
Grader, Vibratory Roller, Water Tanker and Loader.
The sub base shall be prepared to close graded material mixing mechanical
mixer
Materials as per the blend proportions shall be procured from the Alumur
Quarry, Rapthdu sand, & Private Supplier Crushers.
Water shall be added to the spread material after checking NMC to obtain OMC
from a truck mounted water tanker having sprinkler system and suitable for
applying water uniformly at controlled quantities to variable widths. Due
allowance shall be made for evaporation losses.
After addition of water, material shall be processed and mixed with the help of
ripper attachment and blade of the grader until the layer is until layer is
uniformly wet.
Rolling shall be started immediately with the help of vibratory roller using
plane and vibratory passes. Material shall be compacted to required density.
Rolling will be done longitudinally starting from lower edge to upper edge.
SAFETY:
Safety hazards will be identified both at site as well at crusher plant
All the workers and staff will be briefed about the dangerous hazards.
Trained operators will be deployed near crusher as well as at site.
The height of material in open truck will be always kept less than the height of
the sides of the truck to avoid spilling of material during transport.
Sign boards will be kept all along the working zones to alert the people. While
working adjacent to canals / waterways, proper barricading will be done to
ensure safety.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
No material will be allowed to fall during transition. Stagnant water (if any) at
site will be de-watered prior to start of work at site.
Care will be taken to stop flowing excess water from GSB material (if any) to
canal / waterways. This will be done by using water tanker fitted with sprinkler.
Blending: Blending shall be done with Backhoes, Front-ended Loaders, at Plant.
Removal of oversize materials done at this time manually.
Lot Notification & Approval: A lot is prepared and is notified to the engineer, for
approval with an RFI, the mix is tested for acceptance criteria tests and the approved
lot is ready for lying at site.
Compaction Tests: The laid lot is checked for Field Dry Density before proceeding
for next layer.
