The immediate objective of UNEP’s Cleaner Production activities at that time was to raise awareness about the Cleaner Production concept and to promote its adoption by industry. Since that time, Cleaner Production has been widely acknowledged as a win-win strategy to improve industrial performance and simultaneously protect the environment. Nevertheless, the commitment to adopt and practice the Cleaner Production concept has not been as widespread as one would like to have. What is it?
