A) Describe an event (Pag 50)

The festival of San Juan (June 23)

The Fiesta de San Juan is the most important and overflowing celebration of the
peoples of the Peruvian Amazon.
In June the Peruvian jungle is filled with much joy, his music is heard everywhere and
everything is very colorful.
It is here that the birth of "San Juan Bautista " is commemorated.

This
festivity extends throughout our great Peruvian Amazon, from Loreto to Madre de
Dios, including Amazonas, San Martín and Ucayali; In addition to the jungle provinces
of Huánuco, Pasco and Junín, the festive atmosphere is contagious.
The Festival of San Juan brings together gastronomy, religiosity, history, culture and
folklore, expressed under the same motive and differentiated depending on the
location of each Amazonian town.
For example, in Tingo María, Huánuco, locals and foreigners visit natural landscapes,
including the Santa Carmen waterfall and Tingo beach, on the banks of the Huallaga
river.
For the 24th, the central day of the festival, mass is held in the Santa Teresita del Niño
Jesús church.
In gastronomy you can see various typical dishes of the towns and among them what
most expects is the rich Juane.
