Welded Cabinets for Server and LAN applications
ESN Series
Application
Belden Enclosures for use in 19” Data, Telecommunications, LAN and Server applications. Varying depths are available
for various applications.
Features
 4 Sliding vertical rails for mounting (6 rails for cabinets deeper than 800 mm).
 Main grounding point is on the bottom of the enclosure by one M8 screw.
 Top cover has knockout cut-outs for fan-unit and various cable entries.
 The frame is connected to the removable parts with grounding wires.
 The maximum permissible load is 1200kg and 20kg on the doors.
 The 800mm wide cabinet can be upgraded to bear 1500kg.
 Optional cable routing sides for between cabinets.
 Optional lacing panel and PDU holder.
 IP20 protection.

Installation of the cabinet

 It is necessary to distribute the load equally to ensure the maximum recommended load.
 The cabinet must be installed on a flat floor and adjust any differences using the levelling feet.
 To avoid dust penetration at the cable entries use the blanking panel with brush or protective frame.
Environmental protection
All parts are made of recyclable materials and after decommissioning the cabinet must be disposed of according to
relevant regulations.
Operating conditions
Operating environment:
 Office, Telecomm room, computing room.
 The cabinet is not intended for outdoor installation; or for installations in environment that can negatively influence the
functionality of the cabinet and the mounted devices (e.g. environment with the danger of explosion).
Must be protected against:

 Mechanical damage.
 Improper handling.
 A different usage than the cabinet is intended for.
Improper handling is especially:

 Overloading (exceeding the maximum recommended load).
 Installing devices which may negatively influence the operation and function of the cabinet or the installed equipment.
 Change of the construction or design of the cabinet.
Construction
The welded enclosures are available in widths 600mm for 19” mounting equipment and in 800mm width for 19”, 21” or
23” mounting equipment. The maximum load capacity is 1200kg. The minimum thickness of the surface coating finish is
65μm.
Material
 Strengthened frame: Cold-rolled steel 1.3 mm.
 Sliding rail (fixed at four points): Cold-rolled steel 2.5 mm.
 Side panels and doors: 1.0mm

Door types
Door types are available in single (standard left side opening) or double doors. The maximum load on the door is 20 kg.
 Solid Steel door with rigid design.
 Glass door with safety tempered glass of 4 mm.
 Perforated door with 80% airflow with mesh pattern.
Rear panel
The standard enclosure comes with a rear solid panel. In case easy rear access is required, door types can be selected.
Side panels & Baying

Removable side panels are installed on metal pins on bottom of the frame and secured by a key locking mechanism.
They can be easily removed by unclicking grounding wires instantly. When cabinets are bayed together in a row,
knockout panels can be removed for easy cable management in between cabinets.

Top and bottom cover

Each enclosure is supplied with a top and bottom cover which is prepared to receive a Fan unit by removing knock-out
panel. On the front and rear of the cover knock-outs are pre-cut to enable cable access.

Color
Available in Jet black (RAL9005) and Light grey (RAL7035).
Grounding
Ground wires are provided in the standard package. By use of click on studs and connectors, side panels and doors are
removed quick and easy. These need to be properly fixed and inserted into connectors during all the time when using the
cabinet.

Reinforcement upgrade kit from 1200kg to 1500kg and stability frame
For the ESN cabinets with a width of 800mm and a height of 37RU and above an upgrade kit is available to extend the
maximum permissible load from 1200kg to 1500kg (EDASR***). The stability frame is a recommended reinforcement for
extra stability when the 800mm Cabinet is standing alone (not bayed) and is loaded multiple sliding servers.
Vertical rail reinforcement strength member

The closed profile (2 mm cold-rolled steel) increases the load capacity of the 800 mm width cabinet up to 1500 kg.

The reinforcement kit is for 800mm wide ESN cabinets which to provide
extra stability when standing alone and provides cable management.
