Electronic Sealants and Adhesives

Silicone sealants are extremely versatile in the electrical and
electronics assembly process. They can be used to attach
components within electronic modules, as form-in-place
gaskets, or to seal openings in the module to exclude dirt, water
or other contaminants and to provide protection from exposure
to extreme environmental conditions like high temperature and
humidity.
Elastomeric sealants due to their stress relieving properties are
also used to protect against damage to module components and
interconnections due to mechanical stress, thermal stress, and
vibration thereby significantly increasing the reliability of the
electronic module or component.
Silicone sealants are ideal for applications such as the
assembly of rugged mobile computers engineered to withstand
drops, spills, dust and grime and to perform in the harshest
environments.

Why do silicones excel in electronic sealing

Benefits applications?
Silicone sealants possess inherent physical properties that
• Non-corrosive make them an excellent choice for sealing electronics; silicone
sealants:
• are easy to use and repair
• Low stress after • have excellent electrical properties
curing • can be thermally conductive
• resist ultra-violet rays, ozone and weathering
• Maintains • are non-corrosive and have low toxicity

stress-relieving • are chemically resistant

• are flexible and absorb mechanical shock and vibration
properties • are resistant to humidity, moisture and are water repellent

in severe • have wide operating temperature range
