aid of diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases vis-à-vis biosafety and
waste management;

improving the health care management system;
d. Demonstrate inter-personal skills, leadership qualities, and ethical practice of the
profession;
e. Apply research skills in relevant areas of Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory
Science practice;

g. Engage in life-long learning activities; and
h. Demonstrate effective teaching and communication skills.
COURSE Covers the basics of human anatomy and physiology including anatomical terminology,
DESCRIPTION basic biochemistry, cells and tissues, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous,
endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and
reproductive systems. It also provides an in-depth study of human pathological processes
and their effects on homeostasis. Emphasis is on interrelationships among organ systems
in deviations from homeostasis. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate
a detailed knowledge of pathophysiology. Course topics include the etiology, physical
signs and symptoms, prognosis, and complications of commonly occurring diseases and
their management.
CREDIT UNIT/S 4units (Lecture: 2, Laboratory: 2)
CREDIT HOUR/S Lecture: 3 hours (54 hours per sem.)
Laboratory: 6 hours (108 hours per sem.)

COURSE CILO 1 Identify some of the early discoveries that lead to our current understanding of the
INTENDED human body.
LEARNING CILO 2 Explain how anatomy and physiology with pathophysiology are related.
OUTCOMES CILO 3 Name and describe the major organ systems, and list the organs associated with
each.
CILO 4 Explain and describe the parts of a homeostatic mechanism and explain how they
function together.
CILO 5 Properly use the terms that describe relative positions, body sections, and body
regions.
CILO 6 To enable the students to observe, summarize and draw conclusions from data
observed theoretically or experimentally.

In CANVAS, you will access online lessons, course materials, and resources. At
designated times throughout the semester, we will participate in a blend of self-paced and
group-paced activities using and/or alternative Internet-based technologies. Activities will
consist of chat, blogs, discussion forums, email, journaling, blogging, wikis, and web
posting.

CLASS ROOM CLASS BEHAVIOR that disrupts the learning process will not be tolerated. This includes:
