TESTIMONIALS
STUDENTS
At the end of every year, I ask my students to write a letter to the incoming students who will have me as a teacher. I ask them to give
advice about how to be successful in my class so that I can get a sense of what students take away from their time with me.
“You must be respectful to everyone, pay attention and keep the school’s environment clean and safe. I
believe that you can do it! I would say that you should not interrupt the teacher in class, discriminate, or litter in
the classroom. By the way, I would say that Ms. Arsenault is really good at making people feel better! She once
comforted me when I was crying. Haha, don’t worry it’s normal for me to cry. I would say that it is okay to
express your feelings. Keeping your feelings in makes it worse. I had a great time being in 5th grade, and I think
that Ms. Arsenault is one of the best teachers I've ever had!”
“This year you will be learning about things like social issues like world pollution racial discimination and
more. you will also learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals. This was a hard subject for me but
after a while I started to understand it. you will also learn about adding and subtracting fractions. mrs.Arsenault
will teach you some great strategies to learn this. Some of my favorite things we learned about this year is like I
said social issues. I think it's very important for kids to learn about this stuff to make a difference. As long as
mrs.Arsenault is teaching and you are learning, the class will run smoothly.”
“Ms Arsenault is probably the best teacher if you want to succeed all you got to do is just pay attention and
listen to what Ms. Arsenault say and you will understand everything and succeed.in the class you should not say
bad words, dont say easy because is not easy for everyone like people that just came to the US like me when I
am in 3rd grade and don’t talk during class and don’t play with anything while she is teaching.ok if you have
things in class that is hard for you just say i can do this and never give up.”
“If you go through anything hard just ask the teacher or talk with the teacher they fix anything, I'm telling
you they actually have magic lol. it's a very nice class And always be respectful. She is very nice. She tried as
hard as she could for us. (ms arsenault)”
PARENTS
I was both honored and flattered to be awarded the Outstanding Staff Member Award at the District 24 Community Education
Meeting. The facilitator shared the speech read at the meeting with me. Here are some excerpts.
“Ms. Arsenault is a highly effective teacher in our school and her daily work supports that classification. Ms.
Arsenault was our STEM teacher in my son’s 4th grade ICT class and we feel fortunate and blessed that she
was moved up to continue with his class in the 5th grade ICT. Her passion for her subjects is evident; she cares
deeply and is so highly invested in the success of each and every child. She sets high goals for our children and
holds them to the highest standards while never losing sight of whether a child seems to be getting lost. She
customizes her teaching and approach to ensure that all students are learning and are having fun doing it and
she goes above and beyond to provide additional support to anyone struggling. She is always thinking of her
students’ needs and the best way to serve and support them. As parents, we know that she has the best interest of
our children at heart, we know this because we see it in their happy little faces, we know because she answers
every text and email – even it means sending an email at 10pm (after she’s revised her weekly lesson because she
thought the lesson was moving too fast for some of the kids). We know because she doesn’t wait for a parent to
reach out, she initiates contact. We know because she comes in every day with the brightest smile on her face
ready to shape and mold these young minds that have been entrusted to her.”

“Ms. Arsenault who taught Science and Math to my son last year, in fourth grade. My son and I agreed that
she was an outstanding teacher who cares deeply about her students. At the beginning of the last year, I had a
meeting with her because my son struggled with math. I appreciate her dedication to her career; she had an
organized folder with my son’s classwork and quizzes and a detailed list of the objectives of each activity. She
took her time to explain the specific goals he needed to work on, and the activities he should do at home. She
also recommended websites where he can practice to improve his math skills. Through the year Ms. Arsenault
kept me informed about my son’s performance and sent materials to help him achieve his objectives. Thanks to
this, my son not only achieved all the course goals in math but also got an excellent score in the math state test.
She has high expectations of her students and encourages them to think critically and apply their knowledge.
She also organizes engaging field trips to give the children the opportunity to apply what they learned in science
class to the real world. This kind of teaching made my son love learning and become interested in science
research. Ms. Arsenault is an excellent educator; she listens to her students and connects with them, she makes
them feel comfortable when they make mistakes. Most of all, she inspires them to do their best. I am thankful for
the positive impact she had on my son.”
“From the student’s perspective she was an amazing teacher especially when explaining concepts. My son has
a diagnosis of high functioning autism. As parents of a child on the spectrum who just transitioned into a large
integrated class, we were very apprehensive about our child’s academic success especially in the area of math
and science. However, as soon as my son started to attend Ms. Arsenault’s class, we immediately saw positive
results. Despite his struggle with focus and speech, he was able to keep up with the workload. After his first
week, my son came home one day and excitedly told us the story of Ms. Arsenault’s origin and how she was
born in Korea to parents who couldn’t keep her and how she was later adopted by a family in America. In our
mind, we knew our son was able to identify with her as she had candidly opened up to her students. Ms.
Arsenault is very attentive to his needs. She is fun and kind. Ms. Arsenault truly cares for her students. What
more could we have asked for? Yet, this was only the beginning. We soon started to get notifications about her
Weebly website she published to help parents get familiar with the activities in the classroom. At first, we
thought it was a great idea to improve communication with her students. What turned out to be a simple daily
homework tasks became a fairly large and organized source of STEM materials. Ms. Arsenault took an
incredible amount of time to scan and upload all the slides that were taught. Not only were all the materials
clear and concise with her own personalized notes and highlights. She constantly motivates her students on her
website and recognizes their efforts. Furthermore, every time we have texted Ms. Arsenault, either at nighttime
or during the weekend, she always answered back within minutes.”
