Inventory Observation Memo

Inventory Observation
We find and record a number of things while checking inventory. All shoe boxes are stacked on
pallets arranged six by six (shoe boxes) and thirty boxes high. Each shoebox pallet contains
shoes of the same size. A tally label was found attached to every pallet of shoes picked up. The
total inventory was calculated by the respective Apollo personnel. There will be no sales or
inventory turnover during counting.

Our observers can get Inventory Count Instructions which are also given to employees for "in
charge" to follow and we have to say they are informative. Of the nine instructions, each appears
to follow a protocol in ensuring positive and well-documented results in terms of proper
accounting for the Apollo Shoes inventory.

When comparing the observations of our team members with the warehouse inventory reports, it
becomes clear that a total of 98 count sheets were present, and seven of them were tested and
matched with the information available from your company. The figures reported by the
warehouse turned out to be the same quantity observed. The conclusion made was that no
differences were found between our test counts and those calculated by Apollo personnel. As
part of our observation of inventory, we find it necessary to compare the Warehouse Inventory
Report with your Inventory statistical report. We took our own to test and compare a number of
different styles and sizes of the two types of shoes in your inventory. We first looked at the male
siren model, size 7. The two quantities on each of the shapes matched the sum of 4,002. Next we
examine the same style but in the female offering. The inventory count also returned to match
1,827.
