Thank you for the opportunity to assess your company and recommend data driven decision
making strategies. The analysis and recommendations below are based on my review of your
company. The analysis below is based on information provided by your staff. Therefore,
our recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities and your
market. Please let us know if we can answer any questions concerning these
recommendations.
RECOMMENDATION ON KEY STAKEHOLDERS 1 [In Depth Data Driven Analysis for RGV
Inc.]
Analysis and Recommendation
The strategy or study conducted for RGV, Inc., should involve the main stake holders. The
target audiences used for this analysis were the owners of RGV Inc. and their successors.
The Chief Executive Officer involved in decision making and any other person whom has
the power and authority to execute such business model ideas effectively. It is important that
we have key decision makers to be able to execute plans immediately and effectively. The
stakeholders shall be those that are directly impacted by the decisions and actions of the
business model.
Based on Danny R. Rios’ (DBA DRR Enterprise Firm) recommendation: The following key
items were addressed. The target goal for revenues should be increasing every month
steadily with the data driven approach. This will be used as our objective. We will be
looking at the established past practices that RGV Inc. has used in the past to establish a base
line for marketable profits. My professional analysis used for this recommendation will stem
directly from the collection of data, analytical decisions and basing decisions based on
insights derived from the information.
DRR Enterprise Firm may recommend a strong and aggressive approach to boost sales using
all of the available media platforms at low cost advantages. The media platforms shall
include but are not limited to free social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and
Instagram). This aggressive marketing tool or tactic may enhance the visibility of RGV Inc.
and its followers, thus steadily increasing sales. With the understanding that sales are
decreasing, using little to no money on advertising should be the initial concept. This
concept and recommendation has been a proven factor to successfully promote business
sales. The goal for DRR Enterprise Firm is to increase the sales of the company by 10
percent per month in an attempt to help boost sales.
The key performance indicators that will be used for this data analysis is based on this
company’s own unique circumstances and informational needs.
The items to be tracked are those that are currently under sale for the business. We
will outline the off-peak or peak for the items in question. The example we can use
is beachwear being sold during peak season as opposed to off peak.
Have there been any significant factors that have led to the decrease in sales? (A
good example can be that of Covid-19 or any worldwide issues that drive the
business. This is used for example, border crossers who come across the border to
purchase items from the United States and export them. Has this significantly
affected your business?
A good analysis of the qualitative data can be used as a go by of the type of products
that are being purchased there. Has the quality from the supplier gone down? Is
there a quality control person involved with making sure that all of the products are
being turned over correctly with little to no mistakes? With the overwhelming
questions that you the owner have, DRR Enterprises plans to implement the
following strategies to enhance your business.
The qualitative data will begin when the next shipment arrives. The items coming in
will all be monitored and inspected by the quality control person for the next three
months. The idea behind this is to make sure that all of the products being purchased
by the store are at par with what is being sold in other markets. A collective analysis
will be used to calculate the percentages of the good products coming in as opposed
to the bad products that are being received. The shipping costs will have to be
analyzed and used as a determining factor for using different vendors. For example,
if it costs $1000.00 to have an item shipped within the United States to the
warehouse versus $400.00 to have it shipped from China. We will go with the
cheaper vendor in an effort to boost sales profits from the items. It is important that
the quality control person directly oversees any discrepancies of the items and reports
them within one hour of receiving the items.
While overseeing the qualitative data, the quantitative data personnel or manager in
charge for ordering the items shall be directly involved. An approach that may be
taken is the ordering of items. An example that can be used without making any
assumptions is using the quantity of the items that are being ordered may diminish
slightly. The idea of this approach is to slow down the spending of the company but
still meeting supplier needs. The consumer may have access to all of the items if
none are available using the company website to order from RGV Inc. directly.
Every effort may be made to have the items in stock. This method of ordering
merchandise shall be in place until sales fully recover and are back at a normal pace.
A deep dive look into the sales team will be incorporated. A survey with the sales
team to analyze their approach to customers will be used. All salespeople shall be
well versed in building customer relationships. They shall smile, be relaxed, listen
attentively and use the client’s name when available at all times.
o While collecting data, it is recommended for the sales team to have empathy
towards the clients, seek commonalities and be interested in the customer’s
intent to purchase the product or answer their questions. It is also
recommended that the sales team is not pushy on the client but rather give
them an informational approach to a well informed decision. While people
do not like change, the idea behind this business motto is to please the
consumer and make a well-rounded shopping experience for them.
The collection of data from this analysis shall be collected by using literature sources. The
literature sources that may be used to collect data can be magazines, eBooks and newspapers. We will
also be using customer satisfaction surveys through e-mail and/or walk in approach surveys. The
scope of the surveys will not be limited to face-to-face or mail in surveys. The sales person will seek
the assistance of people by actively engaging them in a conversation and asking them particular
questions that are outlined in the survey. Some of the questions that may be used are: How happy are
you with RGV Inc.? Are there any other products that you would like to see in this store? How may
we improve our services to the consumer? By focusing your ideas to the consumer, the consumer will
understand and know that they are the focus for the existence of the store. The concept shall be
Customers First, People Always. After collecting the data, with respects to the customer; a
recommendation can be made that everyone be treated like royalty. Someone will make contact with
you within the first five minutes you walk into the stair. This shall be accomplished by using a door
greeter or someone that is there to lead or shadow the customer. The data of these surveys shall be
kept for approximately three years and stored in the company hard drive for market research.
During the statistical analysis, a record of the past five years of the stores gross sales will be pulled.
This analysis shall compare month-to-month and year-by-year. The comparisons shall be identified
on an excel bar graph or line graph to see the declining or increase in sales.
Some of the key performance questions that need to be answered are: Why did we fall short this
month? Was it the lack of fewer sales calls? Were there fewer leads? Were there fewer e-mail offers?
What caused the slowdown in business sales?
Every question that is being asked for the key performance questions will be an open ended question
using the data driven approach. This will open the door to the respondent and will require the
respondent to use a more approachable answer rather than a yes or no.
A scoreboard will be placed in the break room to annotate how each and every employee is doing and
visible for everyone to see.
The five business step process, which is a series of steps performed by a specific group of
stakeholders to achieve a concrete goal. This process can be used in this analysis due to the
identification of what it is and what tasks are important for our business goals. The goal being
that the sales need to increase. The key to this process is to be data driven. The data collected
through the use of the above platforms must be placed and used effectively to communicate with
the sales team. The sales team must set actions and assign specific stakeholders to make sure
that the right approach is being used when talking to people. The process shall be implemented
and the right training conducted to its employees to make sure it is running smoothly.
A good trend analysis I recommend that RGV Inc. should use is to identify any weaknesses, and
find ways to improve them to help them become their strength. This can be done by preparing
for season changes. For example, you want to predict the sales conservatively but at the same
time, you want to have it available for your customers. This trend analysis is being based on the
idea that what has happened in the past can be a predictor of what will happen in the future. It
can help spot a pattern and help you identify your peak season. This can be used by way of a
line graph or a bar graph that depicts which direction your business is heading. At DRR
Enterprise we are a data-driven organization that uses the data as critical evidence to help inform
and influence strategy.
SELF ASSESSMENT
From completing the project, I learned that there are many ways that a successful business has to
do things to make sure that they are profitable. The data driven decision making process surely
makes it an easier approach to identify problems within an organization. When you identify the
roles and identify the people you need for a project, especially stakeholders, it makes it much
easier to come with a solution when you have someone there to make an executive decision. We
have to make sure that everyone buys into the data driven decision making process. By
explaining it to them, even if it takes time, it will surely gain an advantage over any other
participant that may be trying to venture into your lane when it comes to educating a company.
The collection of the data was the difficult portion. Understanding what kind of data you need
whether it is qualitative data or quantitative data to make something work was key. The more
reliable data you have the better off a stakeholder will be when he buys in or disagrees with your
proposal. The other analysis that needs to be taken into account is time. A good key
performance question that every customer will ask you is the time needed to get a specific item.
All of those come along with the insecurity of someone wanting something. You as the business
firm must acknowledge them and give them a truthful answer of the whereabouts of their items.
To understand the business model of Analyze, Design, Implement, Interpret, and Act, you must
dive in and begin dissecting each section with ease and making sure that you understand what
you are reading and delivering to the reader.
