SMART PAY is an online immediate payment solution which interfaces with the AEPS of
NPCI.
Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) is a new payment service offered by the NPCI
to banks and financial institutions using ‘AADHAAR’. This service can be availed at
Smart Bank Mitra Points managed by Business Correspondents (BCs) using SMART PAY
Digital Banking Devices.
It is a win-win situation for both – the Digital Bank Mitras and the customers. Instead of
searching for ATMs or standing at long queues at bank branches, customers can walk up
to any Digital Bank Mitra Point and avail banking transactions with their Aadhaar number
and fingerprint authentication. At the Digital Bank Mitra Point, customers can withdraw
cash, or instantly transfer money to any bank account in India with ease and
convenience.

serve the walk-in customers. Join our strong network of Smart Bank
Mitra points across India to become an authorized banking
correspondent and provide services like account opening, cash

Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS)

AEPS is a bank led model which allows online


interoperable financial transaction at PoS (Point of
Sale / Micro ATM) through the Business
Correspondent (BC)/Bank Mitra of any bank using
the Aadhaar authentication.
MICRO ATM

Micro ATM meant to be a device that is used by a million Business


Correspondents (BC) to deliver basic banking services. The platform
will enable Business Correspondents to conduct instant transactions.
The micro platform will enable function through low cost devices
(micro ATMs) that will be connected to banks across the country.
This would enable a person to instantly deposit or withdraw funds
regardless of the bank associated with a particular BC. Essentially,
BCs will act as bank for the customers and all they need to do is
verify the authenticity of customer using customers’ UID. The basic
transaction types, to be supported by micro ATM, are Deposit,
Withdrawal, Fund transfer and Balance enquiry.

Challenges in Implementation

For Example:
We establish BANK BC/CSC/DIGITAL MEE SEVA point in which villages
having 1000 population or 200 houses.

We appoint one person as a Business Correspondent / Customer service


provider of Smart Pay to in that BANK BC/CSC/DIGITAL MEE SEVA
point.

We are providing technical and moral support and also conducting Digital
Transaction Awareness Program in all villages and creating awareness. It is
very useful to BC/CSP to gather customers.
Challenges in Implementation

Each village having minimum 1000 population or 200 houses.


Using our Smart Pay we educate minimum 300 members to using digital
transactions and AEPS transactions.
→300 * 8 Digital Transactions = 2400
Each digital transaction get Rs.6/- incentive so that point generates

They can earn more by providing G2C,B2C services also.
We can generate revenue per BANK BC/CSC/DIGITAL MEE SEVA point
without contribution of Government and public simple providing services at
free of cost by using our Digital Transaction Awareness Program.

What is a CSP or Bank Mitra?


CSP stands for “Customer Service Point / Provider” which is also called a Bank Mitra. Bank mitra is an concept designed under PPP
(Public Private Partnership) Where a Bank Mitra or CSP works as a representative or agent of Bank and appointed to provide Banking
service to citizens. The Banking services like, Account opening, cash deposit acceptance and cash withdrawal etc.
In order to make the ATMs viable at rural/ semi urban centers, low cost Micro-ATMs are being deployed at each of the Bank
Mitra location.

What are the duties and responsibilities of CSP or Bank Mitra?


To help citizens to open a saving bank account under different government schemes and policies like “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan
Yojna”. Acceptance of cash deposit and cash withdrawal, to process “Kisaan Credit Card” Direct benefits transfer and Subsidy
transfer etc.

Who can become a CSP or Bank Mitra?


Any Firm, organisation or individual who is 18 and studied 10th can apply and become a CSP or Bank Mitra, apart from this an
applicant should have basic computer knowledge. Experience is NOT mandatory but preferred.

What are benefits of becoming CSP or Bank Mitra?


Its an opportunity to work with banks as a Bank Mitra to provide banking services which entitles you for the commission on it. As a
Bank Mitra you earn some commission on accounts opening, cash deposit, cash withdrawal, Credit Card payments, Bill
Payments, Most important a basic fix pay of Rs. 2000 per month to Rs.5000 per month is being paid to Bank Mitra on certain
conditions.

What are the requirements to become CSP/Bank Mitra?


To become a CSP or Bank Mitra to any bank you must have following things readily available.
Computer (Desktop or Laptop) / Mobile
Internet connectivity (Broadband, Modem or Dongle)
Finger Print Scanner
Printer (optional)

Where a CSP can open?


According to Government and Reserve Bank of India circular, a CSP can be opened on every village basis and in urban areas on ward
basis.
