commissioning of Solar Panels, Inverters, charge Controllers and Battery banks with all components,
Instruments, fittings and accessories for efficient and reliable power supply to various loads present in
a grid-tied solar PV system.
Ambient conditions:
All equipment, apparatus, materials and accessories used in the installations shall be suitable for the
purpose intended and capable of operating with satisfactory performance in the climatic conditions
which are as follows: -
Solar Panels:
Two independent solar system shall be supplied with each of 250kW rating.
The panels shall employ required PV cells and suitable for Grid Connectivity/Off grid
applications.
The provisions shall be made available for solar panel to track the sun to maximise solar
power output.
The Solar modules shall be guaranteed for 25Years for performance, supported by Insurance
is preferable.
Battery bank: The battery shall be selected should be sized to meet the connected load when there
is no solar source to provide a backup for at least 12 hours.
The inverter shall be suitable for receiving DC supply input from solar panels and connected across
DC battery. The DC electricity produced from solar panels shall be able to charge the battery. It shall
be possible to get convert the specified DC input from Solar Panela/Battery to the required output of
250kW full sine wave sine wave 3 phase 400V, 50HZ AC with protection and controlling arrangement
provided.
The Hybrid inverter shall have modes of operation and provisions available to allow for continuous
supply of electricity available from solar, battery and Grid.
Changeover panel: The changeover panel supplied shall be capable of switching to Grid supply from
inverter when there is no inverter supply.
Load Profile:
The design and selection of different components such for solar PV system are solar charge
controller, inverter, battery bank, auxiliary energy sources and other equipment as required shall be
rated for the following load profile.
There are total of 6 feeder loads to be supplied from solar system. The details are as follows:
Feeder 1 Feeder 2 Feeder 3 Feeder 4 Feeder 5 Feeder 6
Minimum KVA 36 60 84 19 70 25
Maximum KVA 138 251 236 96 260 219
Average KVA 50.5 78 149 55 132 115
Peak Time 50 (12 103 (2 140 (4 45 (12 132 (12 90 (12
load (day hours) hours) hours) hours) hours) hours)
hours)
Peak Time 50 (12 103 (2 130 (12 90 (12 250 (12 130 (12
load (Night hours) hours) hours) hours) hours) hours)
hours)
For above data, power factor of each feeder load is considered to be 0.8 (lagging. It is recommended
to incorporate methods to improve power factor and correction for loads during their normal working
range.

Operating Philosophy:
During normal operation in day time when solar source is available, the electricity for load is fed
through Solar inverter. The battery banks connected inverter shall be continuously charged from solar
source. When solar source is not available (e.g. night) the battery banks shall feed load supply.
Whenever both battery and solar source unavailable, the Grid supply shall be used to meet load
demand.
