AAWC Lesson Reflection

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing
On Monday 26th of October 2020, 11:25 AM to 12:00 PM I start my math lesson with KG 1GB. The theme
of the week was plant lifecycle, the outcomes were:

1. Differentiate between similar sound words.

2. Read letter sound and sight words.
3. The plant lifecycle.

Describe (D):
I taught English lesson for kiddie 1p students online using Teams. My personal goal was working on my
time management I will give each section of my lesson the right time I will try to avoid being on hurry. I
think I achieve my personal goals very well this time, my MST give me some feedback and she said that
the students had more chance this lesson better than the lesson before.

Analyze (A):
Since it’s my third lesson I think I understand the students behavior and they also get to know me well
they know I like when they share answers and be active in the class, so in my lesson I think they responds
better than the last lesson. However, I always read the classroom rules before starting my lesson in order
to remind the students how should they behave in the class, this time I make that was more easier for
the students, and I chose the right vocabulary for the roles for example turn your microphone off.

Student where able to say the sound of the previous letter’s A/B/C/D/E/F/G/H very well. Big students are
in a good level when it comes to sound of letters and reading the letters because of the reviewing.

My MCT told me that the banana song was not a good idea so the next time to engage students I will try
to use other song. In my lesson for engaging the students I play songs, I try to call them by names, I keep
asking question.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
I personally I did very well this time comparing to my first observation, I think in students enjoyed the
lesson my MST also send me a voice note telling me that I did a great job this time and she was very
happy. The students were more active this time and the they follow up the instructions and they
understand the lesson because they were active and answering the questions. My personal goal was to
work on my time management and I think I did well this time and I give the students the chance to take
their time for writing also the transmission between each activity.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?
For my next lesson I will make sure to choose the right songs because I don’t think I did well I choosing
the banana song which actually my MST use it, may be the students will be more active for the song F my
MST plate for them but for me that doesn’t work. I was happy and satisfied by my presentation I think I
did well there is some slides I should work on in the future for example I should not put everything in one
slide, I learn to use the right font also.
However, I was really satisfied about my lesson my MST and the other TP teacher we all were happy
about the lesson, the most important are the students they were happy they thank me when I finish. I
asked them if they liked the lesson, they said yes, and they said thank you Miss Huda, this means a lot to
me, as a teacher is important to me to have happy student by then that the day. Also, I will listen
carefully to the feedback from my MST and my MCT.
