The Live Tool Motor on the gang plate has been Citizen’s unique tooling system gives ultimate flexibility
upgraded from 0.75kw[1HP] to 1.0kw[1.33HP]. to a simple slide type machine.
This enables heavier machining. These tools include more cross and face live tools, I.D.
and O.D. static tools as well as gear hobbing, thread
whirling and polygon tools.
Machine Rigidity
1. More live cross or
Larger and heavier axis slides combined with face tools with
improved live tool clamping system have increased standard GSE910
the machine’s total rigidity. Turning Tools 5
Cross Live Tools 7

I.D. Front Tools 3
• Flexibility for more cross live tools. (4 optional)
By utilizing the triple cross live tool spindle (GSE910), I.D. Back Tools 3
(4 optional)
the total number of cross live tools on the gang slide
can be increased to 7.
• Options for more end face live tools
By simply rotating the (GSE910) 90 degrees, 4 cross-
live tools and 3 front face live tools are possible.
By utilizing the double end face live tool spindle 2. More live face

let open/close are controlled by parallel processing. (4 optional)

This reduces lost time between movements, which I.D. Back Tools 3

results in reduced cycle times.
Citizen’s all servo all electric design can reduce cycle
time by 20% when compared to previous CINCOM
models or competitor models using older technology.
Additionally, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as
well as other electro-mechanical devices have been
eliminated reducing maintenance and increasing reli-
ability. The user-friendly Windows interface to the
CNC controller make the machine easy to handle
even for a beginner.
The L series combines complex functions
with precision machining technology L20 VIII
optional 2” saw holder
The L20 Type VIII can perform complex machining func-
tions such as back machining and secondary opera-
tions. The L20 features a unique control system which
allows for safe and easy operation. The ability to intro-
duce up to 23 tools assures that the L20 can handle
most any application with ease.

• Simultaneous machining function:

Complex simultaneous machining such as front and
back simultaneous or front O.D. and front I.D. simula-
tors are made simple by the superimposed and syn-
chronized control system which is unique to Citizen.
• Many optional functions:
With options such as Front Live Tool Unit, Back Live
Tool Unit, Long Work-piece Unit, Thread Whirling,
Hobbing, and Polygon units, any type of machining
can be performed.

Compact design
Improved reliability due to fewer parts and
electrical connections
High speed, high precision and low noise are realized by
means of built in servo-motors. The new servomotors
with built in amplifiers drastically reduce the required
electrical cabinet space. In addition, by use of the mod-
ular circuit system, 50% less wiring is required and
cost-performance has been drastically improved.
• Unified design by combination of mechanics and
electronics
• Miniaturized design and less wiring by modular
technology
• Development of automatic collet and guide bushing
adjustment by use of servo technology Flexible Operation Panel
The operation panel’s user friendly
man-machine interface makes the
machine easy to operate.

L20 VIII On-Line Communications

A PC-based controller connects by modem
to the Cincom website. This can be used to
remotely trouble-shoot, review programs,
obtain on-line help and to download
software or monitor performance.
