Go extends more aid for Cebu fire victims

Sen. Bong Go has extended additional assistance to fire victims in Cebu City, whom he
visited before the pandemic.

Representatives of the Department of Trade and Industry joined Go and distributed

Negosyo Kits to select beneficiaries.

Eighty people – who were displaced in a fire that destroyed properties in the villages of
Carreta, Duljo, Fatima, Inayawan and Pardo – received cash assistance, food packs,
face masks and vitamins from the senator on Thursday.

The following day, 123 residents of Barangays Tejero and San Roque received the same
assistance from the senator.

Members of Go’s staff also distributed bicycles as public transportation remains limited
due to quarantine measures.

Go assured the beneficiaries that the government would be giving away free face masks
to protect themselves from the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

Go reminded the residents that healthcare assistance is available at Malasakit Centers

set up in several hospitals in the province.

During the senator’s visit last year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development
extended additional financial assistance to the fire victims.

A representative from the National Housing Authority provided assistance to

beneficiaries of the NHA’s emergency housing assistance program.
