Full-Cloud & Full-Stack Core Network Interpretation
The reliability of general IT hardware does not meet the requirements of the CT industry. Huawei takes the lead in introducing
the Cloud Native concept into the CT field, fully cloudifies the VNF, and provides all-cloud capabilities for all core network functions
to implement three-layer architecture and stateless design. In addition, advanced technologies such as service-oriented
architecture, micro-services, and containers are introduced to achieve elastic, robust, and agile all-cloud core networks.
Huawei's cloud-based core network is committed to building a secure and trusted full-stack telecom cloud, providing end-to-end
solutions from hardware to cloud OS to VNFs, and building an end-to-end secure and trusted core network.

All-Convergent Core Network Interpretation
The cloud core network 5G Core solution supports unified management of 2G/3G/4G/5G NSA/5G SA user data and status. Based on
the microservice and Cloud Native architecture, the cloud core network 5G Core solution integrates three planes (user plane, control
plane, and data plane) to meet all service requirements of the core network. The interoperability between different modes in the system
enables smooth evolution of the 5G SA version to one network. The seamless handover between different networks is seamless, and
services are not interrupted continuously. Microservice-based full-stack convergence simplifies network efficiency and saves 30% network
resources compared with competitors.

All-Service Enabling Core Network Interpretation 5GaaS

Cloud-based networks have many uncertain service requirements in the 5G

industry market. The 5G network requires CU separation, and the Full Mesh
network architecture makes the network more reliable. From the perspective of
services, the concept of network slicing comes into being. Various vertical
industries are enabled by defining service parameters and orchestrating
Service innovation functional modules. As a supplement to the big network market, MEC is the first

Interpretation of Automatic Core Network
The 5G network enables 2B industry applications, introduces slicing and MEC to achieve agile and ultimate experience of services,
and challenges network operation and maintenance (O M). The HUAWEI CLOUD core network MAE-CN (Mobile Automation Engine
– Core Network) solution is dedicated to building the automatic driving capability of mobile networks. The NRF is enhanced to
integrate the management plane and control plane to implement network autonomy. Service requirements can be quickly closed in real
time. In addition, the 5G MEC increases the N times of the edge sites, which increases the O&M cost. The plug-and-play function of
the user plane enables fast one-stop deployment of edge sites, reducing operation and maintenance (O M) costs.

 5G Core 20.x FAQ

 5G Core Commercial Case

2/3/4/5G Convergence FAQs
What is the implementation of 2/3/4/5G convergence in 5GC 20.x?

• Currently, 5G 20.x Release 2 supports 4/5G convergence, and 20.x Release 4 supports 2/3/4/5G NSA/SA full convergence.

• The UDM 20.1 version has implemented the small-scale commercial use of 4/5G convergence, and the 20.3 version supports the
large-scale commercial use of 2/3/4/5G.

• In UPCF 20.1, 5G has been put into small-scale commercial use, and 20.3 has been used for large-scale commercial use of 4/5G.

• CE 20.x supports 2/3/4/5G NSA convergence.

Does the 5GC Unistar CFG support convergent quotation?

• The 5GC 20.x R2 configurator supports 2/3/4/5G full convergence configuration and is used only for bidding quotation. The actual
delivery is subject to the version implementation pace.
Container & Micro-service FAQs
What are the principles for splitting microservices? Which products have been split by micro-services?

• In addition to independent life cycle, independent resource scaling, independent optional components, and other microservice splitting
principles, Huawei microservices can be separated from each other based on experience in the CT field. In the future, only a single
atomic service or process service can be replaced to solve the end-to-end coupling problem of the 3GPP process.
• 5GC 20.x NE (UNC/UDG/UPCF/UDM) has been split into 40+ microservices.

What is the container ecosystem of 5GC 20.x? Indicates the mode in which a container is supported.

• Huawei supports the mainstream Docker container ecosystem. Huawei provides the container cluster scheduling and application
orchestration solution FusionStage. This solution is based on the open container cluster scheduling and application orchestration
solution Kubernetes(K8S).
• In 5GC 20.x, VM containers are introduced in the fastest way. The bare-metal container quickly supports multi-vendor integration before
being standardized.
