Overview of Play
“Dr. Faustus” or The tragic history of Life and Death of Dr. Faustus is written by English
dramatist Christopher Marlowe. In this play there is a story of Dr. Faustus who was born of
lower class parents.. Faustus, though a great scholar, continues to prize knowledge without
acquiring wisdom. He distracts himself with questions about the heavens, but does not
understand the nature of God's heaven. He understands the forms of the heavens, but not the
force behind them. Because he is human, and flawed, he fails to understand the divine mystery of
God's forgiving nature. He believes himself damned, and so he finally gives in and sells his soul
to Mephistopheles, and tries to enjoy being damned.
Faustus agrees to "think on the devil," and throw himself into being hell bound. The story is
based upon downfall of Dr. Faustus and Christianity.
I want to tell you a story that inspires me to focus on faith and positivity .
Origin of Seven Deadly Sins
These sins are also a part of Christian ethics in a branch of Christian theology, depending on the
concepts of “right” (virtuous) and “Wrong” (sinful) behavior from a Christian perspective. If
someone committed any of the seven deadly sins they would be damned to Hell.

Seven Deadly Sins

Dr.Faustas does nothing to protect Germany or the poor though he has immense power and
knowledge. Instead he commits many mortal and venal sins.

Pride: (the mother of all sins: believing too much in our own abilities or believing oneself to be
superior to others).Faustus casts aside the doctrines available to him, scorning them for being too
easy or simplistic for him. He therefore is unsatisfied with being mortal, i.e, does not subject to
the laws of nature and God. He believes God will not give him the answers he deserves while he
is on earth, so turns to Lucifer instead in frustration.
He had pride because he,at the beginning, was showing pride while pondering over which subject
to choose to study in. Not only that, at some points, he boasts himself of being “a conjurer
laureate” and vice versa.

Covetousness/Greed : (the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the
spiritual). Faustas had considered taking physic or medical studies to “heap up gold and fame”.
It was also this greed that made him do the deal. He also wished to have books of immense
knowledge, gold and fruits in abundance from all over the world. Faustus requested to
Mephistopheles to bring him ‘money, possessions and sensual delights’ every day, temporal
satisfactions that are nothing in comparison to what is promised by God in Heaven.

Envy/Jealousy : (the desire for others’ traits, status, abilities, or situation in a way that they
become devoid of them) Faustus envies the Emperor, the Pope, Lucifer and even God for having
power and status beyond him. He summons Mephistopheles so that he can use him to have a
power he hopes will exceed the power of them all.
Wrath :  (when love is overcome by fury) Faustus is so furious at Benvolio’s mockery of him
that he indulges in a petty act of spite by conjuring a pair of antlers to appear on the man’s head.
When he cannot face the truth the Old Man offers him – that forgiveness is his if he asks God for
it – he becomes angry and asks Mephistopheles to call demons to torture the Old Man to his
death.

Gluttony: (an excessive desire to consume more food than that which one requires) At the end
of his twenty-fourth year, with death close, Faustus is ‘swilling and revelling with his students’
in a feast with ‘food and wine enough for an army’.Gluttony leads to laziness.

Lust/Lechery : (an excessive craving for the pleasures of the body/sexual pleasures) The Old
Man pleads with Faustus with love to repent and call on God’s mercy. Faustus, prizing flesh over
spirit, wastes his remaining time on lechery rather than heed his advice.
He had lechery for he sought Helen of Troy as his wife and when he wasn’t allowed to get
married, he sought a whore.

Sloth/Lazziness : (the avoidance of physical or spiritual work) The slothful person, like

Faustus, is unwilling to do what God wants because of the effort it takes to do it. He summons
Mephistopheles and signs the contract with Lucifer to sell his soul for 24 years so he can have
knowledge, possessions and experiences on-tap without any effort on his part.

Conclusion

The Seven Deadly Sins that Mephistopheles's devil friends conjure to amuse Faustus are an
allegory in the purest sense of the term..
An allegory is an abstract concept that appears in a material, concrete form. And in this case, the
seven deadly sins (which separate a person from God forever if they're not repented) appear as
actual people. In the medieval tradition of allegory, a character's relationship with the Sins tells
us which side he's on—God's, or the devil's.

In front of Faustus, Pride, Covetousness (Greed), Envy, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, and Lechery
(Lust) march in the weirdest parade that ever paraded. The scene clearly shows how Lucifer and
others were openly mocking Faustus and his stupidity and shallowness and blindness. He saw all
the seven sins and learned about them. They were presented before him like courtiers to a king.
Yet he didn’t detect those sins in his actions and thoughts. By this, Lucifer and his demons were
mocking and taunting Faustus’s “wisdom”.

How often we see our sins right before us yet are blinded by them so much as to not realize
them. When we are yelling and screaming, we are busy yelling and screaming, not realizing how
angry we are and how bad it is for us. When we are jealous of someone, we are busy envying
them and wishing for their ill fortune. Through this just one scene, Marlowe said it all.
Dost write the old defination of father means currently showing behavior in 3D
In details
Then think this is what i have believed about him and have strong assumption so that's why he is
like this
Then write the new defination of him new script to act ...
Write him as your ideal one
Then do dua k he should be like this and i don't know how its gonna happen but i believe its
happening now ...
Allah has started the process... And now every act every event every talk is part of process its
leading him to be your ideal...
So detach emotionally anything he is saying or telling or doing don't react just have FAITH its
part of process ...
Allah says in Quran sometimes you don't like something but it happens for your best
So anything will be happening to bring you your ideal version of father have faith within 3
days ... Leave the mental state of makkah filled with mushrikeen and enemies.Stay in cave of
Soar for three days of any snake of negativity comes let him come listen to him and say okay
now u go I don't believe if mushrikeen comes in front of door say don't worry Allah is with us ...
with in 3 days your 3D will start moving to moving to Madina the state of ideal desire and
peace ..
Soooooo don't react to anything and let the miracles happen.
