ABSTRACT
The concept of ‘Rasayana’ was among the Astangayurveda as evident from Ayurvedic texts which

held in high esteem in Ayurvedic texts which are capable of not only keeping aging at bay but have also
proved very effective as supportive therapy in many chronic diseases and as adjuvant to chemotherapy.
A number of herbs have been ascribed with properties of Rasayana in Ayurvedic literature as Guduchi,
