1. Discuss the provisions that are typically included in an employiment contract.
Employment contract includes:
Identifies of parties to the contract
General job duties and responsibilities
Compensation and benefits
Terms and conditions of employment
Termination/resignation factors
Non-compete and non-piracy agreements
Intellectual property and trade secrets

2. How do ombuds contribute to dispute resolution in organizations?


Ombuds- individuals outside the normal chain of command who act as independent problem
solvers to ensure process fairness.
Ombuds have effectively addressed complaints about unfair treatment, employee/supervisor
conflicts, and other wworkplace behaviour issues

3. Describe an employee handbook.


Employee handbook - a tool for communicating information about workplace culture, benefits,
attendance, pay practices, safety issues and discipline. It is not intended to be a contract or any
part of contractual agreement between the employer and the employee.
When preparing handbook, management should consider legal issues, readability and use. Many
firms are distributing employee handbook electronically usinf an intranet.

4. Briefly describe the term "separation agreements.


Separation agreements- formal contracts in which an employee who is being terminated agrees
not to sue the employein exchange for specified benefits, such as additional severance pay or
other 'considerations'.
When using separation agreements, care must be taken to avoid the appearance of constructive
discharge of employee
