Unit1: Introduction, Organization of 8085: Architecture, Internal
Register Organization and Pin Configuration – Instruction Set of 8085 –
addressing modes – instruction machine cycles with states and timing
diagram.- 8085 assembly language programming- Examples

Unit2: I/O Interfacing: Data transfer schemes – programmed


Synchronous and asynchronous – Interrupt driven Transfer – Multiple
devices and multiple interrupt levels – enabling disabling and masking
of interrupts.

Unit3: DMA transfer: Cycle stealing – Burst mode –Multiple DMA


devices – DMA transfer in 8085 system – serial data transfer.
Programmable communication interface (8251) (USART) –
Programmable interrupt controller – Programmable DMA Controller
(8257)- Programmable Keyboard/display controllers.(8279) 8051
