 Assignment 4.

1-Change Order is used to exchange or modify materials and/or work listed on the Scope for
other materials or work. An Addendum is used to add additional work (labor and/or materials)
to the Scope. The Contractor shall submit to the Agency a breakdown of the cost for each
Change Order or Addendum.

2-special conditions in your purchase/sale contract designed to provide certainty and

protection. These additional conditions or clauses in the contract are included to provide a party
more certainty, protection and peace of mind when entering into a residential property
transaction to either purchase or sell a property.

Special conditions are additional conditions attached to a standard contract, and are normally
included in contracts relating to the sale of a land.

3-A lump sum contract represents the total price for which a contractor offers to complete a
facility according to the detailed plans and specifications. Unit price contract is used in projects
for which the quantity of materials or the amount of labor involved in some key tasks is
particularly uncertain.

4-A unit price contract makes a lot of sense when work can easily be divided into identifiable
chunks (units). So, where projects are repetitive or the price is heavily dependent on materials,
and where the ultimate quantity of work might not be obvious from the get-go, using a unit
price contract makes a lot of sense.

Unit price contracts are most commonly used for public construction projects. However, it could
make a lot of sense for certain trades to utilize unit price contracts on private jobs, too.

5-The four primary sections of a project manual are the bidding documents, the general
conditions, the supplemental conditions, and the technical specifications.

6-Concrete construction materials are covered in the division 3 of the CSI Master Format
Division.

7-Workers’ Compensation Insurance covers your employees, which are generally defined as any
persons who work under the direction of and for the benefit of an employer. Regulations
regarding what types of workers are covered vary by state, with some states requiring coverage
for undocumented workers, domestic workers, agricultural workers, and more.

A work-related injury is an injury that is related to a worker’s job duties, which includes most
injuries that occur while an employee is working. The range of injuries and illnesses covered is
broad and may include accidents from slipping and falling to exposure to toxic chemicals. Each
state regulates the kinds of illnesses or injuries that Workers’ Compensation Insurance covers,
so coverage may vary from state to state.
Injuries that occur on a job site, client site, or outside of your office are covered. Injuries that
occur while traveling for work reasons, such as driving from the office to a client site or driving
between work sites are also covered, even if driving a personal vehicle .

8-For negotiated contracts, the contractors must be selected on a rotating basis from a pool of
contractors able to perform the type of project work required.
