I. Subject Title: 21ST CENTURY LITERATURE FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND THE WORLD
A. INTRODUCTION
This learning area is designed to engage students in appreciation and critical study of
21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World encompassing their various
dimensions, genres, elements, structures, contexts, and traditions.
B. LEARNING OUTCOMES
After competing this 80- hour subject you as a learner should be able to acquire the
following competencies:

applying a reading approach, and doing an adaptation of these, require
from the learner the ability to identify: representative texts and authors
from Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa
8 Compare and contrast the various 21st century literary genres and their
elements, structures, and traditions from across the globe
9 Produce a creative representation of a literary text by applying multimedia
and ICT skills
10 Do self- and/or peer-assessment of the creative adaptation of a literary
text, based on rationalized criteria, prior to presentation

applications for you to be able to accomplish some activities; you will need some basic
software applications. These applications do not need an internet connection to use them
instead these are easily accessible and available in your respective desktop and laptops.
