You are on page 1/ 3

Hello everyone. How you doing? Okay, I guess.

It is my privilege and pleasure to welcome you all to

104th meeting of KUSOM Toastmaster’s club. I would like to acknowledge the presence of everyone.
You could have stayed at home watching Netflix, chilling. But you chose to be here and thank you so
much for joining. I hope I will make the next one and half hour worth your time.
Months of preparation and hard work had finally paid off and when you are all set for your first day of
college, you might have crazy expectations and maybe those high budget Karan Johar movies have set
our hopes with college life very h igh.
Joining college after disciplined and restricted life of school seems a period of permanent happiness
and freedom to every student.
I remember my first day. I put on new clothes, went to college half an hour early. I felt myself
surrounded by intelligent and bright young people. I was constantly giving introduction. I was
nervous throughout the day and laughed at the unfunny jokes all the time.
But at the end of the day, I was happy that I survived it so well. I went back to room and first thing I
did was to share my experience with my roommates and parents.
On that note, I would love to hear about your experience.
Thank you everyone. It was lovely listening to your experiences. You all facing the same direction is
making me nervous.

Now, I will go right into the agenda. I would like to explain the structure of the meeting. The meeting
is divided into three sessions. The first of which is The Featured Speech Round where members will
be delivering speeches based on the projects and paths that they have chosen. When you join
Toastmasters, you get to choose from ten different programs to develop your public speaking skills in
a step-by-step manner.

The second part of the session is The Table Topics Round, where members can practice thinking and
speaking on their feet. This round is also known as the Impromptu Speech section. Guests are
welcome to participate in this round as well.
The third and final part is The Evaluation session in which all the prepared speeches as well as overall
meeting will be evaluated by the General Evaluator TM Mridul and his team of direct and indirect
evaluators.
On that note I would like to request our General Evaluator TM Mridul, to explain his role and
introduce his team.
Thank you, General evaluator.

We will now move into the first part of the meeting. For tonight’s prepared speeches, we have TM
Sumycheen Bhusal. TM Sumycheen is giving her L3 P2 speech. I would like to request her evaluator
to read her project objective.

The title of TM Sumycheen’s speech is being courage- a euphoric aftertaste.

To provide us with the challenge for today’s Table Topics round, we have the Table Topics Master
who will be conducting the session today.
Please help me in welcoming, the Table Topic Master for the day, Shirpa Musyachu.
That was fun, wasn’t it. Thank you, TM Shirpa for the interesting spread of topics.
The next part of our meeting is an important round of a Toastmaster's Meeting. In this round,
constructive feedback is given to speaker as well as to the overall meeting conduct so that members
can benefit from the experience of evaluators. For this, we have the General Evaluator TM Mridul to
conduct the session. I would like to thank him from the bottom of my heart. I was jumping up and
down, not literally but metaphorically when he agreed to take up the role. I would now like to hand
over the session to General Evaluator of the day, Toastmaster Mridul.
So, as we head towards the end of our session today, now I would like to request TM Nitya not to
launch poles but to collect the ballots for the better role taker.
So, I think you’ll admit that was kind of an interesting evening, huh? It was interesting for me. I
would like to thank you all because the only way we could have made it through this crazy time was
together- as far apart as possible. Life is full of changes. Some big, some small. I learned a long time
ago you can fight it or try to make the best of it. And that's all a lot easier if you've got people who
love you to help you face whatever life throws at you.
Now comes the exciting moment that all of you have been waiting for, the Presentation of Awards.
We shall present the certificate for the better featured specker, better Table Topics speaker, Better
Evaluator, followed by the better role taker. Let us welcome TM Nitya.
Congratulations to all the winners. Thank you for those who took part and made this evening a
wonderful one. It’s been a pleasure to be the Toastmaster of the Evening. We had dealt with crazy
times and everyone is excited to come on with energy. Hope you’ve all had quite the fulfilling
meeting.
It is now the end of my session and I shall now pass the control to the presiding officer for closing
remarks.
