HR manager implements strategy through HR practices includings 6 functional areas:

1. Job analysis and design


HR should identify the positions, do job analysis to create job design. Noted that the job design
must be linked to Dell’s strategy.
2. Employee Recruitment and Selection
Dell needs to supplement and recruit employees through advertisement and mass media
communication channels to attract more potential employees.
3. Employee Training and Development
Employees are very important assets of the company, their attitude may affect the productivity
quality, employee development and retention, as well as turnover of the company => Focus on
improving their employee behavior by letting them undergo an attitude training and development
training program.
Through these programs, HR departments can:
Improve the morale of the employees.
Reduce cases regarding employee’s misconduct.
Enhance a safe and sound workplace.
Increase work efficiency so that productivity is developed, the cost of production is
brought down and the quality of production improved => contributes to a company's
profits.

4. Performance Management
Performance of the workforce in an organization is directly related to the success of the business
venture. The contribution of the employees towards the reputation of the company, quality of
products or services delivered and the market share of the business is extremely important.
Employee's performance must be closely linked to the needs of the business and desired
outcome.
Hence, Dell should be able to trigger the employees to go that extra mile and use their initiative
to improve performance rather than simply achieving set targets.
5. Pay Structure, Incentives and Benefits
Dell can attract top performers into its business and to motivate its current employees With a
high level of pay and offers a range of standard big-company benefits relative to that of
competitors,
For Employees who give their best to the work want to be given a chance to prove their capabilities.
They also want their performance to be assessed in a fair way and seek adequate rewards and
financial compensation in return for the extra efforts placed on the job.
Dell can assist the employees in delivering quality work by providing them with adequate
support, resources, and incentives such as bonuses, profit sharing, monetary rewards, gift
certificates or company parties and celebrations
6. Labor and Employee Relations
Listening to what employees have to say, how they feel about their jobs, supervisors, tools and
resources, assessing their satisfaction are very important.
To give assurance to its employees that they are being treated fairly and that HR policies are
being applied consistently throughout the company, a formal code of conduct that emphasises
high ethical standards in every area of the company’s business should be enacted.

On the basis of what Khoa and I have stated above, as the Human Resources Manager, I will
review and evaluate the key contents to present to Michael Dell on how HR will help the
company.

Company usually use PC instead of latop for their employees because PC are created for long-
term, all-day usage, its also offer more configuration options than consumer laptops. However,
as technology is advanced and computer market is developed, buyer needs become more diverse,
they want their products unique and appropriate to their personality or style. Therefore, the
consumer market is growing fast to satisfy their needs.
