SOCIALLY USEFUL AND PRODUCTIVE WORK (SUPW) PROJECT
Grade 9
(2021-2022)
ICSE SECTION

An important aspect of the SUPW syllabus is ‘Community Service’, in order to

sensitize our students to the needs of others in the Community – the
underprivileged, the elderly, the blind, the sick, animals and the environment.

We hope that the hours spent in service to others will nurture in our students,
a sense of responsibility and selflessness and bring happiness to both the giver
and the receiver.

The duration of the Community Service Project is as follows:

Grade 9 : 18 hours to be completed by 25th January, 2022 of which 9 hours

should be completed by 14th September, 2021.

Students will be required to maintain a Community Service Project File.

Contents of the file:

⮚ Details of the work done at the chosen organization, including time

spent there.
⮚ 7-10 photographs (optional)
⮚ An endorsement for the above from the concerned organization on
the index page, where each visit is recorded.
❖ The required hours can be completed during the vacation, on weekends
or during the student’s free time.
❖ Students are free to choose any social service organization.
❖ Your ID card and a copy of this notice should serve as an introduction to
the organization.
