    Momo Kapor’s literature is characterized with easy and simple style, clear constructions but with strong

    messages. His works are translated in many languages. He was an author for 40 years and some of his
    most famous works are: “Una” , “The notes of certain Ana”, “A book of complaints”, ‘’Phonies” etc.
    Besides novels he also wrote plays, travelogues, essays. He did illustrations and had a lot of art
    exhibitions around the world.

    In honor of the anniversary of his birthday, read some of his beautiful thoughts on the blog today:

    “Here’s to normal kisses, on a forehead with kisses with forehead!”

    “I actually think that the weirdest people look very conventional, very standard. Because a person who is
    really weird on the inside, who is in deep misunderstanding with the world which doesn’t accept the
    person nor understand it, that person doesn’t feel any need to attract anyone’s attention. On the
    contrary, that person wants to hide. For example, is there a weirder human being than Kafka and yet he
    worked at insurance company in Prague, not looking any different on the outside from the rest of the

    we like it or not, we cannot say that we live in a time of ideology’s crises.”

    “Walking, he was learning how to live without Una. To walk truly like a convalescent, but still to walk. To
    eat, to eat, to drink by himself. To drink, to sleep but to laugh that was the hardest for him.”

    “A half week without news about accidents and wars is needed! Friends are wanted, even worn out/
    old, all the lost, the displaced, the missing, those who blew us to pieces, part by part, part of our time,
    our love, those are wanted in order to return love.”

    “A person can say that their life is not wasted, if they can do at least one thing better than others.”

    “The new year is for amateurs, for those who never stay after midnight in a tavern/pub.”

    “You shoudn’t be scared of solitude. It is noble, part of our life just like the gatherings. But not anyone
    can endure it. It is not for the weak, for those who constantly have to be surrounded by others in order
    to forget how weak they are. Not everyone from their solitude, like a shell, can form a pearl and gift it to
    others. It is known that not every shell makes a pearl.”
