PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, May 14, 2021 a Manatee County Grand Jury returned a No True Bill
In Re: Death of Sheena Morris.

This office requested the Office of the Statewide Prosecutor to independently


review this case.

Our office has been advised the Grand Jurors were fully informed on the
circumstances surrounding the death of Sheena Morris on January 1, 2009.

Attached is the No True Bill presented to our office by the Office of the Statewide
Prosecutor.

We wish to thank the Statewide Prosecutor's office for undertaking a thorough


and exhaustive review of this case and particularly Statewide Prosecutor Cass Castillo for
his personal involvement and presentment to the Grand Jury.

This was a tragic loss of a wonderful young woman and we continue to express
our thoughts and sympathies to Sheena Morris' family, loved ones, and friends.
