Targoviste - presentation, information, photos and recommendations

The old fortress, Targoviste is located in central-southern part of Romania on a high terrace
of 260m above the valley Ialomita, the boundary between the High Plains region and the
Carpathian foothills of Targoviste, Dambovita River that includes the interfluve between the
Ialomita river and to contact with "plain ramble, low and monotonous, being an extension of the
hilly plains. Plain uniformity is taken from the Romanian Plain, Targoviste is located in the hilly
its part of the Ialomita High piedmont plain, and Subcarpathian Hills neighborhood.
Archaeological excavations in the territory and around the town of Targoviste showed that
this region was inhabited since the Neolithic. The Archaeological Museum is culturally vestiges of
Stancevo-Cris, Gumelnita, Cotofeni, then during the Bronze and Iron Age. Well illustrated in the
museum are ornaments and tools from the time the Geto-Dacian Dacian kings, and Decebal
Burebista, and then proving the coverage area in the currency area Daco-Roman material culture
(c. I-III) and then Byzantine (sec. V-VI ).
In the current quarter Targoviste Suseni have found traces of a settlement of the century.

Wallachia and has a tourism potential through the many buildings and monuments meant a great
