Solution Install "upper pickup modification kit", spare part number*: CM+3617030. It contains:
1. Modified latches which open and close the rollers for moving the film towards the
thermal head:
 Reinforced holders for the axle.
 More clearance for the axle which is moved by the latches
(before: ± 0.25 mm, now ± 1 mm).
2. Stronger springs at the upper pickup rollers. These springs define the friction
between rollers and film.
3. Software update 1.9.1_C1 with optimized film pick-up timing
* The last digit in the spare part number indicates the spare part revision at release of
this document. When ordering, the actual revision of the spare part is delivered.

Symptom 2 When printing calibration films (Film calibration; Internal Densitometer Calibration;
Thermal Print Head Calibration) the printer makes a strange noise.
The noise depends on the type of Thermal Head (Kyocera / Toshiba) and the film
batch.

Cause Resonances inside the printer, appearing sporadically at low density printing.

Solution Software update 1.9.1_C1 has different calibration patterns implemented to avoid
sporadic resonances. Example for film calibration film see Figure 2.

8.1 Solved Software Issues

Software 1.9.2_C1 solves following software issues:

Symptom 1 Sporadically the printer stops boot-up with message “Error System Failure”:
 When pressing the ON/OFF switch the printer cannot be switched off.
 Access via network is not possible (to reboot remotely).
 After unplugging and reconnecting the mains cable the printer usually starts up
normally.

Symptom 2 When the upper or lower RF tag (RF = Radio Frequency) is Causeive (Error HC301003
/ HC 302003) the display names the wrong defective RF tag (RF1 instead of RF2 and
vice verse).
Also in the service manual DD+DIS150.05E, section 4, edition 1 revision 0, Reference
Diagrams, the RF-tags are mixed.
Correct:
RF1 = lower tray
RF2 = upper tray

Cause Mismatch of correct naming of RF tag in translation file for LCD display, service manual
and software

8.2 New Feature

Currently the RF-Tags of the film packages

have their information stored in a non-ISO
format.
To be prepared for future changes of the RF
tags (new format as defined by ISO) software
≥ 1.9.2_C1 already accepts ISO RF tags.

 Corrected hang-up of Firefox browser, if the user set a DICOM job in the operator
menu from a normal to an emergency print job.
 Corrected software issue at remote emergency software installation without
preserving data, that network settings were not reset to default.
 Added the missing wedge test image to the sets of test images for DRYSTAR
5302. The wedge test image is available for DRYSTAR AXYS since software
2.0.0_C1.
 Added the missing printer check when trying to install a DRYSTAR 5302 / AXYS
