Chapter no 1 problems
Problem no 1-1

If 31.251018 electrons are removed from a neutral dielectric. How

much charge is stored in coulombs?

N= 31.251018

We know that e= -1.61019

Q=?
Solution
We know that Q= Ne

Q= (31.251018)(1.610 -19)
Q=5 C  ans

Problem no 1.3

A dielectric with a positive charge of +5 C has 18.751018 electrons

added to it. What is the net charge of the dielectric in coulombs?
Solution we know that

The charge of 1 electron is -1.601019C

So the charge on 18.751018 is

-1.601019  18.751018 =-3C

When we add the -3C to the +5C we end up with +2C
Answer➔ +2C
