The Starbucks Barista Is An Electric Coffee Machine
The Starbucks Barista Is An Electric Coffee Machine
The Starbucks Barista Is An Electric Coffee Machine
Consumers buy
the machine to get the Starbucks coffee taste in the convenience of
their own homes. The Barista will grind enough coffee for a single cup
of coffee, eradicating the need to make an entire pot. The Barista can
also adjust to fill cups of different sizes. The Barista doesn't require
extras like coffee filters. Fresh, unground coffee beans must be used
with the Barista.

Instructions
1.
o 1
Fill the water chamber with cold, filtered water and turn
the machine on.
o 2
Prime the pump. Open the steam valve and let a few
ounces of water pass through.
o 3
o 4
o 5
Steam the milk. Submerge the steam wand just below the
surface of the milk and open the steam valve. When
enough foam has formed on the top, raise the pitcher so
the steam wand reaches lower down in the milk, reducing
the amount of foam created. When the thermometer
reaches between 150 and 170 degrees Fahrenheit, close
the steam valve and put the steamed milk to the side.
o 6
Press the Steam button off, and quickly and carefully wipe
the steam wand with a damp cloth. Place a cup underneath
the steam wand and open the steam valve to get rid of any
milk that may be in the wand and prime the pump.
o 7
o 8
Insert the coffee filter into the filter head, turning the filter
handle as far to the right as it will go. Place a shot glass
under the filter holes to catch the espresso. When the
Ready light comes on, press the Brew button.
o 9
The espresso will pour into the shot glass. When you have
enough coffee, press the Brew button to stop the flow of
espresso.
o 10
Pour the espresso shot into the bottom of the mug with the
coffee syrup. Grab your pitcher and pour the steamed milk
over the coffee and syrup. A spoon will help hold back the
foam. Leave enough room at the top of the mug for your
desired amount of foam and spoon it in.

Our Coffee
It has always been, and will always be, about quality. We’re passionate
about ethically sourcing the finest coffee beans, roasting them with
great care, and improving the lives of people who grow them. We care
deeply about all of this; our work is never done.
Our Partners
We’re called partners, because it’s not just a job, it’s our passion.
Together, we embrace diversity to create a place where each of us can
be ourselves. We always treat each other with respect and dignity. And
we hold each other to that standard.
Our Customers
When we are fully engaged, we connect with, laugh with, and uplift the
lives of our customers— even if just for a few moments. Sure, it starts
with the promise of a perfectly made beverage, but our work goes far
beyond that. It’s really about human connection.
Our Stores
When our customers feel this sense of belonging, our stores become a
haven, a break from the worries outside, a place where you can meet
with friends. It’s about enjoyment at the speed of life—sometimes slow
and savoured, sometimes faster. Always full of humanity.
Our Neighbourhood
Every store is part of a community, and we take our responsibility to
be good neighbours seriously. We want to be invited in wherever we do
business. We can be a force for positive action— bringing together our
partners, customers, and the community to contribute every day. Now
we see that our responsibility—and our potential for good—is even
larger. The world is looking to Starbucks to set the new standard, yet
again. We will lead.
Our Shareholders
We know that as we deliver in each of these areas, we enjoy the kind
of success that rewards our shareholders. We are fully accountable to
get each of these elements right so that Starbucks—and everyone it
touches—can endure and thrive.
Onward.
The World's Best Coffee
So if you want to find the world’s best coffees for yourself, your journey
begins here.
Selecting great coffee is only the first step towards enjoying a wonderful
cup. How you grind, brew and store your coffee is almost as important as
the coffee you choose.
Grind
For a fresher cup, grind your beans just before brewing. You brewing
method should dictate how your coffee should be ground; coarse for a
press, medium for brewed coffee, fine for espresso.
Proportion
Measure 10g (2 Tbsp) to 180mL (6 fl oz) water. To adjust your coffee's
strength, add water after brewing.
Water
Fresh, good-tasting water is an essential component in brewing a great
cup. If your local tap water tastes fresh and pure, then it's likely to make
a good cup of coffee. Otherwise, consider using filtered or bottled water.
Freshness
To maintain their rich flavour, store your coffee at room temperature in a
opaque, airtight container. Our FlavourLock™ bag meets this requirement
and will keep your beans fresh after a full week after opening.
Life of Coffee
The coffee bean begins its life as the prize inside a bright red coffee
cherry. It takes about five years before a coffee tree produces a
harvestable crop of cherries, and each tree only produces the
equivalent of a pound of roasted beans per year. To prepare the
pebble-like green coffee beans for roasting, growers process them
using either the natural or the washed method. Through the natural
method, ripe coffee cherries are allowed to dry on the tree or on the
ground before the beans are removed by hulling. Through the washed
method, the beans are immediately separated from the cherries,
submerged in a vat of water, and then dried on large patios or with
modern equipment.
Green coffee beans are heated in a large rotating drum, then their
transformation begins. After about 5 to 7 minutes of intense heat,
much of their moisture evaporates. The beans turn a yellow color and
smell a little like popcorn. After about 8 minutes in the roaster, the
"first pop" occurs. The beans double in size, crackling as they expand.
They are now light brown. Very sour one-dimensional flavor notes are
dominant, while more complex coffee flavors haven't yet developed.
After 10-11 minutes in the roaster, the beans reach an even brown
color, and oil starts to appear on the surface of the bean. At this
roasting time (different for each coffee, but usually somewhere
between 11 and 15 minutes), the full flavor potential begins to develop
in the beans, bringing all of their attributes into balance. The "second
pop" signals that the coffee is almost ready. The moment that the
coffee is released into the cooling tray is a memorable one. The smell
of freshly roasted coffee fills the air, along with the sound of applause
created by the final clapping of the "second pop."
Coffee is grown all around the world, but only on a belt between the
Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.
The region where coffee is grown plays a big role in determining its
taste – the native soil, climate and processing methods used in
cultivation all impart a distinctive flavor to the beans. A French
winemaker would call this “goût de terroir” – the “taste of the place.”
Like many other fruits, coffee cherries grow on trees. The soil, climate,
altitude, and surrounding plants that a coffee tree is exposed to during
growth affect the flavor of the beans it produces.
At harvest time, coffee trees are laden with bright red coffee cherries.
An unroasted coffee bean is simply the pit of the coffee cherry.
The skin of the coffee cherry is very thick, with a slightly bitter flavor.
The fruit beneath the skin, however, is intensely sweet with a texture
similar to grape. Beneath the fruit is the parchment, which serves as a
protective pocket for the seed, much like the small pockets that
protect the seeds of an apple. Remove the parchment and you’ll
generally find two green coffee beans, ready for washing and roasting.
Favorite Beverages
Expertly prepared by hand, made with the world’s best coffee and
wonderful premium ingredients. Your favorite Starbucks® beverage is
waiting for you.
But if you try two or three coffees, you can compare them not only in
terms of your personal preference, but also in terms of aroma, acidity,
body, and flavor. Here’s one tip though: When tasting more than one
coffee, always taste lighter bodied coffees first and work up to fuller
bodied coffees.
Aroma
This is the first hint of how your coffee will taste. In fact, most of your
sense of taste actually comes from your sense of smell – which is why
coffee can smell so sublime and taste so satisfying.
