Conflict Identification
The area is currently seeing widespread and intermittent effects of global warming. Climate change has
cost them extremely in the form of heatwaves, massive floods, and frequent and untimely rainfall, as well
as devastating droughts. Not only have they been weighed down by man-made natural disasters like
floods, drought, landslides, and heatwaves, but the sense of panic and fright they have makes them feel
dreadful and agitated. Crops are becoming barren, soils are becoming infertile, transportation is
becoming dysfunctional, and welfare distribution is becoming uncontrollable, resulting in inconceivable
economic losses. Livelihoods and alternative sources of income are also at risk. As a result, Numerous
residents have left the neighborhood, and many more have been relocated to neighboring regions.
During the unexpected nighttime flooding, many people's precious possessions were damaged. Some of
the houses have vanished underneath the filthy water. Also, When it rains, landslides occur due to the
soil structure's inability to penetrate water easily. Months of dry weather cause food shortages and
uncultivated fields have given the situation. This led to the deaths of people and the destruction of
property.
Plan of Action
To address the problem, therefore provide two ways such as the short-term and the long-term solutions.
In the near term, guaranteeing the rationing of necessities to the most vulnerable is a priority. Assist
people in coping and making them feel valued, as well as demonstrating that the government is doing its
part to alleviate the consequences of climate change and ensuring effective management. Most
especially, we must educate not just ourselves but also others to take part in the community and hold
high regard for ethics. On the other hand, Long-term solutions include large-scale afforestation, adoption
of a comprehensive strategy to address the negative consequences of climate change, adaptation to
innovation and fiscal measures, and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
Reflection
Humanity has had numerous accomplishments throughout history, but we are currently seeing what may
be its greatest failure. At school and home, there was little encouragement to integrate solutions into our
life. Most of us didn't realize the depth of the problem until we started witnessing the consequences of
climate change directly. Thus, we need to make the public aware of the situation's urgency. Our future is
put in danger. If we do not act hurriedly, ours will be a narrative of extinction similar to that of thousands
of other species before us. We should not let what happened to Barangay Bayalse happen again.
