Important message.

2
Pixar’s Wall-E is a film that describes what might happen to our environment in the

future if some things keep up. Technology clearly takes over in the film. Besides offering

important messages about love and connection, this film offers the community a better

understanding related to the environmental issues. In the movie, we can see that the earth

has utterly uninhabitable to human beings as the result of pollution and waste. Hence, the

message is that if human beings does not start to make any effort to deal with the waste,

pollution and garbage trough recycling and management, thus we might end up in similar

circumstances as those in Wall-E.

The tiny plant in the Wall E reminds us that every one of us needs an act as even the

smallest of the action could have a huge consequence. The message is that the small

moves that would actually deliver great outcomes. No matter how hard the idea where in this

case to save the planet, there would be no action that should be considered as too small to

help.

FAVOURITE SCENE

My favourite scene is when Eve suddenly goes into standby mode after she take the

plant given by Wall-E. Wall-E who does not understand what was happened to Eve try to

wake her up and bring her under the sun hoping that she will wake up. He also shields her

from wind, rain and lightning even she does not respond. The funny moment when Wall-E try

to hold Eve’s hand while watching sunset but get stuck instead.

FAVOURITE CHARACTER

Beside the main character Wall-E, my favourite character is Eve. First impression is

she look sleek and dangerous but has cool design yet so cute. She has a glossy white egg

shaped body and blue LED eyes. At the first moment she in the film, she looks aggressive

and committed to her mission. After the shuttle dropping her off on earth, she starts doing

her job scanning the world to find plant. But after the shuttle leaves, she playing and flying

happily around the area. I also love how she call Wall-E.

FAVOURITE QUOTE

My favourite quote is “I do not want to survive! I want to live!” by the Captain. I think it

is important to do not just survive but to live our life to the fullest. After find out what is earth,

the Captain want to live his life by doing what normal people do instead of just sitting on the

chair playing phone and consume food from drinks.

SELF REFLECTION

After watched Wall-E, I think it is time for me to take recycling more seriously while

educate my surroundings as it is important to take responsibility into our own waste. Sound

pretty hard but the important thing is to start something even it is small.

Another thing to wonder is that being dependant on routines and habits might make

us distracted and not able to make our own decisions. As we can see in the movie, the

humans are lazy consumers as they become to dependant to the technology to the point

where they lost connection with each other even though they are beside next to each other.

Those humans do not even know how to walk as they only move by electric chair while their

kids are learning from the robots. They also immediately change their clothes from red to

blue once they see the ads saying that blue is the new red. I think it is important to make our

own decision instead of just follow others.
