1. Introduction

1.1 Rationale

The objective of this project is to develop a e-commerce store where organic product can
be bought from the comfort of home through the Internet.
On this platform farmers those who grow organic crops will be able to sell their products
to online customers just by registering themselves & showing their products online on
this platform.
Due to the pandemic, small businesses are going in loss and are forced to quit. So, our
idea as well as solution is to save as well profit them by this project.
E-commerce is fast gaining ground as an accepted and used business paradigm. More
and more business houses are implementing web sites providing functionality for
performing commercial transactions over the web. It is reasonable to say that the process
of shopping on the web is becoming commonplace.
The objective of this project is to develop a general-purpose e-commerce store where any
product (such as books, CDs, computers, mobile phones, electronic items, and home
appliances) can be bought from the comfort of home through the Internet.
The rapid adoption of smartphones and subsequent access to the internet has allowed
emerging market consumers to be a major global force across a range of online activities.
This has resulted in the humongous growth of e-commerce over the past few years. Our
idea is to utilize this so that small shops could move their businesses online through our
website.

1.2. Problem Definition and Proposed Solution

In the present agricultural senario, crop yield is declining day by day despite
maximization of chemical inputs. Vicious cycle of chemical farming is now exposed in
the increasing crop an sustainability, higher input requirement, poor soil quality as well
as recurrent peat and disease infestation. Moreover, in the pretext of climate change yield
interference has become quite predictable under the unpredictable weather conditions
veavis hike in biotic potential.
Hence, enhancement and maintenance of system productivity and resource quality is
essential for sustainable agriculture. Organic farming can solve many of these problems
as this system helps to maintain soil productivity and effectively control pest by
enhancing natural processes and cycles in harmony with environment.

Today, it is clear to the agricultural community that organic farming is the best option for
not only protecting/sustaining soil-plant -ecological relationship but to mitigate the
adverse effect of climate change.
So as to encourage Farmers and increase Organic Productions we came up with the idea
of ORGANIC FARMS.
To create a website where farmers and customers could register them. Then the farmers
would provide details of the products they sell with the price attached to it. Now the
customer, after registering, would enter their location and the product they are looking
for. And our site should give a list of all the nearby farmers that sell that particular
product(s).
Building a platform to help local farmers to reach online customers
Machine learning is used to enhance the customer experience.

1.3. Objective and Scope

● To provide 2 interfaces: one to the farmers and other to the Customer.

● To provide smooth and easy user experience, work to be done on UI, UX.
● To provide a payment gateway: suggested ones are PayPal and paytm.
● Create a set of requirements for a Website CMS for small businesses based on
research
● Build and test a prototype of a Website CMS for small businesses based on the
requirements found
● Knowing when an item was saved or not saved in the shopping cart.
● Returning to different parts of the site after adding an item to the shopping cart.
● Easy scanning and selecting items in a list.
● Effective categorical organization of products.
● Simple navigation from home page to information and order links for specific
products.
● Obvious shopping links or buttons.
● Minimal and effective security notifications or messages.
● Consistent layout of product information.

2. Literature Survey

Some limitations for the current system to which solutions can be provided as a future
development: The system is not configured for multi- users at this time. The concept
of transaction can be used to achieve this. The Website is not accessible to everyone. It
can be deployed on a web server so that everybody who is connected to the Internet can
use it. Credit Card validation is not done. Third party proprietary software can be used for
validation checks.
As for other future developments, the following can be done:
The Administrator of the web site can be given more functionality, like looking at a
specific customer’s profile, the books that have to be reordered, etc.
Multiple Shopping carts can be allowed.

● Amazon: Does not provide organic products.

● Ondoor: Have there own contract farmers and does not always provide organic
products.
● Bigbaazar: Same problem as of ondoor & amazon.
● Local Dukan App: Very less exposure and usage, only selected brands available.
● My Kirana App: Is useful but does not have a registration feature unlike our
website.
● MrKirana.com Website: Available only in certain locations inside or near
Indore. So we plan to register shops outside Indore as well.

3. System Requirement Specification

● For Frontend :
HTML, CSS
● For Backend :
Python with Django
● Internet Connection

Building a platform to help local farmers to reach online customers
Machine learning is used to enhance the customer experienceAs discussed in the solution
of the problem statement, we have created an E-Commerce web site which will help local
businesses to grow. For convenience purposes, we have kept the UI smooth and simple so
that each and everyone could use it with ease.

7. Conclusion

"E-commerce is an evolution"
- By using electronic technology through the internet, it achieved more competitions,
more marketplaces, faster transactions, and more advanced technologies to make
activities between customers and producers more active. We as customers and internet
users are responsible to keep our ecommerce healthy and safe so that e-business can be
more reliable in the future.
In general, today’s businesses must always strive to create the next best thing that
consumers will want because consumers continue to desire their products, services etc. to
continuously be better, faster, and cheaper. In this world of new technology, businesses
need to accommodate to the new types of consumer needs and trends because it will
prove to be vital to their business’ success and survival. E-commerce is continuously
progressing and is becoming more and more important to businesses as technology
continues to advance and is something that should be taken advantage of and
implemented.

operated, supported us for which we expressed our sincere acknowledgement.
To develop a successful website one needs understanding and coordination from all those
who are directly and indirectly involved in this.
We would like to thank all those who have supported us. A person can be successful only
when the team and organization for which they are working have unlimited goal of his
perseverance. We hereby, like to show our deep gratitude towards our instructor and
project in charge all faculty of college helped us very much.
We are obliged to them for successful completion of our E-Commerce Project.
