RSA SecurID

PC Setup instructions (Bell Aliant SSLVPN)


August 2020
Overview

RSA SecurID token is Bell’s approved two-factor token authentication application. It relies on something you
have (token) and something you know (Personal Identification Number (PIN)) to validate your identity and
authenticate you to your approved access into Bell.

Requirements

• Install the RSA SecurID Token application (SecurID) on your PC


(https://community.rsa.com/community/products/securid/software-token-windows).

• Have the two emails from Bell Corporate Security that contains the Password and Zip File.

• Create your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

• Bell LAN Credentials.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
It is important that you complete the CTKIP setup
today, and for the success of the process you must
follow each step as indicated in the below guide.

Configure your SecurID.
Steps Image
1.  Ensure the RSA Token application is https://community.rsa.com/community/products
installed on your PC. /securid/software-token-windows

2.  Open the email titled “2 - Action required:


RSA SecurID SoftID Installation Process.
Employee: XXXXX’

 Copy the Password.

3.  Open the email titled ‘Action Required:


RSA SecurID SoftID Installation Process.
Employee: XXXXX.’

 Double click on the attached zip file


‘MySecurIDUsername.zip’ and select
‘Open’.

Note: If your pc does not have Winzip


installed, the zip file will open in the native
windows file compressor.

4.  Double click on the
‘MySecurIDUsername.sdtid’ file located
within the zip file.

 Paste the password copied in Step 2 to


decrypt the file.

 Click ‘OK’.

5.  Enter the same password copied in Step 2
into the ‘Enter File Password’ popup
window to import the token.

 Click ‘OK’.

 Token is successfully imported.

Create your SecurID Personal Identification Number.
Please note: you only need to follow this step to set your initial Personal Identification Number (PIN) associated
with your RSA SecurID token. Please keep these instructions, as this step will have to be repeated should you
have to complete a PIN Reset or if you obtain a new RSA SecurID Token.

1. Navigate to
https://partnervpn.bellaliant.ca/bell

2.  Enter your Bell LAN Account in the ‘LAN


UserID’ field (i.e. ez1345).

 Open the RSA SecurID Token application.

 DO NOT enter any numbers.

 Click on the arrow to the right of the ‘Enter


PIN’ field.

 Manually enter the numbers that appear


into the ‘Token Passcode’ field on the
Partner VPN Portal.

 Enter your Bell account password into the


‘LAN Password’ field.

 Click the ‘Sign In’ Button.

3.  You will be prompted with a ‘New PIN


Required’ screen.

 Create a NEW PIN. Enter a 4 to 8 digit PIN.


(cannot start with zero)

 Re-Enter the PIN in the ‘Confirm PIN’ field.

 Click ‘Save PIN’ button.

4. You new PIN has been saved. Be sure to
remember your PIN, because you need it each
time you sign in.

IGNORE this statement ‘To continue logging


in, please wait for the code on your SecurID
token to change and then enter your NEW PIN
followed by the SecurID token code.’

5. Close your browser and RSA Token


application and proceed to Normal

Normal Connection to the Partner VPN Portal.
Please note: Follow these instructions once you have set your SecurID Personal Identification Number

https://partnervpn.bellaliant.ca/bell

2.  Enter your Bell LAN Account in the ‘LAN


UserID’ field (i.e. ez1345).

 Open the RSA SecurID Token application.

 Enter the PIN you created in the ‘Enter


PIN’ field.

 Manually enter (or use copy button and


paste) the numbers that appear into the
‘Token Passcode’ field on the Partner VPN
Portal.

 Enter your Bell account password into the


‘LAN Password’ field.

 Click the ‘Sign In’ button.


3. You should be successfully connected to the Please note. When your Bell LAN Password expires
Partner VPN Portal you will begin to receive messages that your
secondary password will expire in 15, 14, 13, etc days.
When the password actually expires, you will be
prompted to change it the next time you connect to
Partner VPN.

If you must delete the existing token from
the RSA application :

1. Open the RSA SecurID Token app.


2. Select ‘Options’.
3. Select ‘Manage token’.
4. Select ‘Delete Token’.
5. Click ‘Yes’.

For your Device Serial Number:

1. Open up the RSA token


2. Click on Token Storage Devices
3. ‘Device Serial Number’ will appear in
the middle.

 Go to My Telecom Warehouse
 Click on 3. Manage my Assets
 Click on My Assets. Your Bell manager
would have to select manage another
user.
 Select SecurID, select your RSA Token,
click on Take Action
 Resend my RSA token (Activation
Code)

 Select which type of token you would


like to receive

 You will be asked to enter the RSA


Device Serial Number. (see step 2
above)

5. SecurID Account Status

Your Bell Manager can check the status of your account SecurID Report Viewer
in SecurID Report Viewer (must be on the ICN).

6. Reset PIN/Enable Account

Your Bell Manager can update portions of your SecurID SecurID Self-Service
account using SecurID Self Service (must be on the ICN).
