ELECTORAL COMMISSION GUIDELINES/HOW TO VOTE/ELECTION RULES

GUIDELINES

1. Election portal is https://uniuyo.edu.ng/evoting


2. Portal opens up automatically by 9:30am for Election details and voting commences by 10:00 am

on ______________ and shuts down automatically by 2pm prompt.

3. Eligible voters are those whose names are on the voters’ register and whose information are valid

4. ONLY eligible voters can login to the electoral portal with the EXACT Registration Number and
eVoting Event Number (EVEN). Your EVEN will be provided by the SMS and other retrieval
channels via the portal.

HOW TO VOTE

STEP 1: On the day of elections, logon to https://www.uniuyo.edu.ng/evoting on any internet


enabled device (e.g. Mobile phones, laptops, desktops, tablets etc.)

STEP 2: Under “Registration Number” Enter your Matric Number as displayed on the voter’s
register

Under “e-Voting PIN” Enter your e-Voting Event Number (EVEN).

STEP 3: After completing Step 2 above click on LOGIN AND CAST and the portal will display
your unique, customized electronic ballot paper with the various electable positions.

STEP 4: Select each electable position tabs and select your preferred candidates by clicking on the
circle against their names and pictures.

STEP 5: Upon completion of Step 4 above for each candidate and position, click on “CAST VOTES”
to drop your ballot paper into the electronic ballot box. You will get notification about your vote.

STEP 6: You can monitor LIVE RESULTS UPDATE via https://www.uniuyo.edu.ng/livepolls.php

NOTE: You can vote from ANYWHERE, only within the stipulated voting time
ELECTION RULES

1. Use your information strictly as displayed in the voters’ register

2. Do NOT sell your e-Voting Event Number (EVEN) as it will be useless

3. One-Man, One-Vote remains the policy of this election

4. Do not attempt to vote for someone else

5. You CANNOT vote before or after the stipulated time for voting

6. You can use any internet enabled device e.g. mobile phones, tablets, desktops, laptops, etc. to vote

from anywhere

7. Say NO to electoral violence! All grievances should be channeled in writing to the Dean of
Student Affairs

E-VOTING REQUIREMENT
1. A restricted election viewing centre known to the Commission and Students Adviser. Only
those permitted to monitor the elections will be taken here and seated 30 minutes to the
election kickoff

2. The persons allowed are:

a. All agents to the aspirants

b. School security personnel

c. Media representatives

d. Members of the Election Committee

3. Projector, projector screen, printer and paper

4. Uninterrupted power supply from start to finish of exercise

5. Public address system

6. An environment with good network availability

7. At the end of the elections, the agents will be requested to sign off on the election monitoring

team that they accept the result

8. Please provide us with the name and designation of signatories of the election result. For
example: The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Secretary of the Electoral Committee,
Chief Security Officer, Legal Adviser, and Chairman of the Independent Observers
Committee.
NOTE:

If you don’t receive eVoting Pin via SMS, follow the steps below to get it via the
evoting platform;

Steps:

1. On the home page https://uniuyo.edu.ng/evoting


2. Click on Get evPIN link
3. Select Get evPIN via Portal
4. Enter your MatricNo/Registration Number
5. Enter your Date of Birth (DOB)
6. Select the Grade obtained in your O’level
7. Click on GET evPIN here button
