Techroutes Switch Firmware Update Process

Process of Techroutes Switch Firmware Update


Requirement elements.

1) Switch OS
2) Console Cable
3) One Lan Cable (Cat5 / Cat6)
4) Tftpd32.exe software (This software download from internet it’s free) URL:
http://tftpd32.jounin.net/ ‐Click on Download Option.
5) Administrator Rights to Laptop (Mandatory)

Follow the below procedure:

1) Connect Laptop to Switch (any Ethernet port) using lan cable.

2) Assign IPv4 your laptop. Use IP 192.168.1.10 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 click OK.

3) Open tftpd32.exe file  Click on Settings  Select Global tab  Unselect DHCP
Server & DNS Server Click OK and again OK. Don’t close this Software.

4) Again Click on Settings  Select TFTP tab  Click on Bind TFTP to this address and
select front box and click on 192.168.1.10 IP  Click OK and again OK.

5) In Current Directory  select Browse click Desktop path (Switch.bin File Copy
your Desktop).
6) In server interface select 192.168.1.10 IP. Don’t close this Software.
7) Connect Console cable from switch to laptop and logging on switch username
admin and password admin.

8) Then go to config mode. Switch>enable


Switch#Config
Switch_config#interface vlan 1
Switch_config_v1#ip add 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
Switch_config_v1#exit
Switch_config #exit
Switch_config#ping 192.168.1.10
PING 192.168.1.10 (192.168.1.10): 56 data bytes
!!!!!
‐‐‐ 192.168.1.10 ping statistics ‐‐‐
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss round‐
trip min/avg/max = 0/0/0 ms
(Above ping is to ensure you configure correct IP in Local Area connection of
your System)

9) Switch# copy tftp flash Enter


Source file name[]? Switch.bin (Note: use Upper case “S”)

Destination file name[Switch.bin]? (Press Enter Button Here)
