INTRODUCTION

PURPOSE

The Illustrated Parts Catalog was prepared as specified by ATA

Specification 100. It is intended as a companion document, not a
substitute for, the associated Maintenance and Engine Shop Manuals
which shall be considered the authority on disassembly/assembly
procedures.

The Illustrated Parts Catalog lists and illustrates replaceable

assemblies and detail parts, assists in provisioning,
requisitioning and storing.

This Catalog is arranged in two independent main sections, the

sections being:
– POWER PLANT (CHAPTER 71)
– BASIC ENGINE (CHAPTERS 72 THRU 75, 77, 79, 80)

Each main (DPL) shows the Engine divided in sections, identified by

Catalog Sequence Numbers (CSNs), which have a relation to the ATA
breakdown used in the Engine Manuals section consists of:
– DETAILED PARTS LIST

DETAILED PARTS LIST - ARRANGEMENT

The Detailed Parts List presents the Power Plant and Basic Engine
divided into sections which relate to the ATA Breakdown used in the
associated Maintenance and Engine Shop Manuals.

The indenture system used in the Detailed Parts List of this

catalog shows the relationship of one part to other parts in
disassembly order where applicable.

For a specified item, the indenture system shows the primary or

general group in the left position. The sequence continues down and
to the right until the last detail part is shown, as follows:

DETAIL PART LIST CODING

The Model Apply code is shown in the nomenclature column of the

detailed parts list.

EFFECTIVITY

This catalog does not contain engine serial effectivity

information.

USAGE CODE

The Detail Parts List (DPL) incorporates a column designated USAGE

CODE. Alpha codes will be used in this column to identify specific
parts which must be used with other speicific parts, within the
same assembly (or installation) and the same engine model.

TP.PC.11
INTRO
Page 3
Apr 15/2019
Before applying the "usage code", ensure that the parts are coded
for use on the same engine model (reference Model Apply in
nomenclature column). If the part is not coded for the same engine
model, the usage code does not apply.

Within an installation (Figure), a part number identified by a

"Usage Code" (a single alpha designation) denotes that the affected
part MUST BE USED with all other parts identified with the same
single alpha designation. It also denotes that the affected part
can be used with all other non-coded parts (no alpha designation).

When a combination of alphas are used (such as "abd"), the affected

parts may be used with all other non-coded parts and all other
parts coded "a" or "b" or "d" or any combination thereof (such as
"ab" or "ad" or "bd" or "abd"). A part coded "abd" cannot be used
with any coded part number which does not contain "a" or "b" or "d"
in the alpha combination.

USAGE CODE will identify affected parts within a

Chapter/Section/Unit/Figure only.

An alpha code may be repeated from figure to figure, but is only to

be used for identification of affected parts within its related
figure (i.e. USAGE CODE "a" for 72-54-00 figure 1 does not relate
to USAGE CODE "a" for 72-54-00 figure 5).

NOTE : If interchangeability of assemblies, sub-assemblies

and detail parts is affected between
Chapter/Section/Unit/Installation (or between figures
thereof), "use with" notes will be used in the
nomenclature column for the affected part number(s).
Fully interchangeable parts do not require USAGE CODE
designation, or notes, within the assembly level they
support.

HOW TO USE THE CATALOG

A. To identify an item when only the part number is known.

(1) Find the part number in the Numerical Index and note
the Chapter/Section/Subject, Figure and Item Number.

that are not provisioned and the next higher assembly
must be ordered.

(21) The reference "SELECT FROM" is used when there is a

choice of parts to be used based on different weight,
size, etc. of the parts for the assembly.

(22) The term "REFERENCE SB" is used to indicate this

service bulletin should be considered when inspecting
or making disposition on the part.

(23) The term "POST SB 7X-XXXX (A.D.....)" is used to

indicate this service bulletin has a relationship to
an AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE.

(24) There are certain parts that are not marked with the
full part number as listed in the IPC part number
column. These parts may be too small or other reasons
make it impractical to mark the complete part number
on the part. For parts manufactured by General
Electric, such parts may be marked as follows :

IPC Part Number Part Marking
