Exercises - Present Simple

1. Add s / es / ies to the following verbs:

1. do: hacer = does (ejercicio – abdominales – aeróbicos – yoga –


karate – tareas – trabajos – oficio / aseo / quehaceres / tareas de la casa)
2. study: estudiar = studies
3. teach: enseñar = teaches
4. say: decir = says (discursos – palabras - “expresión”)
5. cry: llorar-gritar = cries
6. dance : bailar = dances
7. fix: arreglar-reparar = fixes
8. worry: preocuparse = worries
9. play: jugar - tocar un instrument = plays
10. grow: crecer – sembrar = grows
11. watch: mirar = watches
12. miss: extrañar – perder (medio de transporte) = misses
13. hurry: apresurarse – apurarse = hurries
14. stop: parar - detenerse = stops
15. make: hacer / elaborar / fabricar = makes (comida – manualidades –
planos – maquetas / tender de la cama = make the bed)
16. tell = decir / contar (la verdad - mentiras – un secreto – cuentos -
historias)

Chores / Houseworks = quehaceres / tareas de la casa
- Do the cleaning = limpiar
- Do the dusting = limpiar el polvo
- Do the sweeping = barrer
- Do the mopping = trapear
- Do the ironing = planchar

2. Escoge 6 verbos de los anteriores y escribe 3 oraciones afirmativas


y 3 oraciones negativas.

FREQUENCY ADVERBS AND FREQUENCY INDICATOR

QUESTION:

- Answers: frequency indicator / frequency adverb
1. Subject + verb + complement + frequency indicator.

indicator.
*** To be verb: Subject + am / is / are + frequency adverb +
complement.

1. I brush my teeth 3 times a day.

2. I frequently study.

- How often do you see your grandparents?


1. I see my grandparents every 8 days / every weekend.
