Field Service Engineer - Control System (Turbomachinery & Process Solutions)

Responsibilities

 Analyzing and correctly solving complex faults and problems on gas turbines, steam
turbines, compressor and other process system at the location of the customer.
 Performing preventive maintenance interventions, trouble shooting, repairs, revisions
and modifications to turbomachinery and/or related process systems.
 Engineering and design of HMI systems, general knowledge of Windows OS, Networking
and MS office packages. Functional design of control systems in industrial area
classification, ATEX and SIL requirements.
 Design and engineering of field and machinery instrumentation: vibration and speed
sensors, pressure and temperature transmitters, valve positioners.
 Ability to read and understand technical documentation packages: P&ID’s, manuals,
cause & effect diagrams, IO-lists.
 Reporting on performed activities (orally and written).
 Advising the customer about improvements and correct use of the machines and related
systems.
 Performing workplace inspections concerning safety, health and environment.
 Performing maintenance, modifications, adjustment, commissioning, testing and
trouble-shooting on software control system and equipment supporting gas turbines
and compressors.
 Acting as primary point of contact and trusted advisor to customers for timely and
satisfactory resolution of concerns.
 Interfacing across customers, engineering and management teams to ensure site
operations and maintenance activities aligned to technical requirements.
 Collaborating with co-workers and customers to provide technical guidance to solve
complex technical problems.
 Providing customers and management with professional and timely report related to
field services activities and equipment status.

Job requirements

 Suitable candidates have a Bachelor's (ST) Degree Polytechnic (AMD) in Electrical


Engineering, Electronics, Control Engineering, Physic Engineering, Mechatronics
 Relevant work experience as a field service engineer in the oil-, gas- and energy industry
is an advantage;
 Ability to read and understand technical documentation packages: P&ID’s, manuals,
cause & effect diagrams, IO-lists.
 General knowledge of the working principles of turbines, turbo compressors and
thermodynamics., though the most important thing is your personality and that you are
willing to learn;
 Excellent command of English language, both verbal and in writing.
 As Turbomachinery Control Engineer (E,C&I) you have good communication and social
skills which enable you to respond proactive and flexible to the customers wishes.
 Having a strong customer service-orientation mindset, experienced leading customers
through tough decisions
 Be skilled at communicating complex technical information to customers and teams
with varying levels of technical understanding
 Knowledge of and experience with relevant automated systems (MS-Office, Visio,
Autocad, Ms. Project);
 Willing to travel for work in remote and offshore.
 The mid-level position requires relevant experience in one or more of the following
fields: controls, automation, instrumentation, rotating equipment and industrial
processes.
