Page 2 Paragraph 2.B. 1) From: For product failures within warranty, Parker will
incorporate the VSB FOC. For in warranty returns not
attributed to motor failure, Parker offers to upgrade to
the new motor configuration for additional charges of
$4,800. Units returned outside of the warranty period
can have the VSB incorporated within the current con-
ditional flat rate repair mod of $8,500.
No additional work is required for parts previously modified by prior issue of this Service Bulletin.

1. PLANNING INFORMATION
A. Effectivity
This Service Bulletin is applicable to the Parker Hydraulic Systems Division (HSD) Electric Mo-
tor Pump (EMP) P/N 51154-04.
B. Reason
Parker has identified product improvements to the motor assembly that will increase the EMP
reliability and service life.
C. Description
1. The bearing inside the new motor, P/N 26426-03, has a different type of grease that will
help reduce bearing wear and increase the service life of the bearing.
2. A new lip seal, P/N 26623, with extended service life will keep normal shaft seal leakage
from going into the motor.
D. Compliance
Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin is recommended and can be implemented at the oper-
ator’s discretion.
E. Approval
1. The modification procedures described in this SB are reviewed and technically accepted
by Airbus to apply to the Airbus fleet affected.
2. This SB does not contain any change information that revises the equipment definition
covered by Airbus approved modifications.

2. MATERIAL INFORMATION
1) A new motor, P/N 26426-03 and a new lip seal, P/N 26623, are required to implement
this VSB.

paragraph 2. B. 1) for material price and availability.
1) EMPs that have been removed for cause, confirmed for failure, within the warranty period,
will be eligible for a free of charge incorporation of this Service Bulletin. After the war-
ranty period has expired, operators are requested to contact Parker Hannifin Corporation,
Customer Support for a quote to implement this Service Bulletin.
2) Damage from mishandling and/or abnormal use, and parts or work required outside the
scope of this Service Bulletin is subject to time and material charges.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Remove the old motor and lip seal as described in the Disassembly Section of CMM 29-
10-70.
B. Install the new motor and lip seal as described in the Assembly Section of CMM 29-10-
70.
C. Test the EMP as described in the Testing and Fault Isolation Section of CMM 29-10-70.
