1. Give the definition of the sacrament

Sacrament is defined by the Catholic Church as an efficacious sign of grace, Instituted by

Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us. The visible rites by which
the sacraments are celebrated signify and make present the graces proper to each sacrament . When a
person is baptized, those observing the symbolic action of either immersion in water or of water being
poured are prompted to think of wide range of associations that water brings to mind. Examples
include water that cleanses, rain the refreshes parched land, the sea, lakes, and rivers teaming with life,
floods that destroy and our fear of drowning. For the person who is baptized the experience of symbolic
drowning and cleansing has an impact on their interior life of feelings and values.

There are seven sacraments. They fit into three categories, as follows:

Sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation

Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick

Sacraments in the service of Communion: Marriage, Holy Orders

2. How does faith become a important role in receiving the sacrament ?

Faith is important role in receiving the sacrament it is meant to strengthen faith and forge
a deeper relationship with God. Baptism frees from original sin, confirmation strengthens faith and
Eucharist allows you to taste the body and blood of eternal life and be reminded of Christ’s love and
sacrifices. Being catholic to me means serving the less fortunate, doing the right thing even though
sometimes you don’t want too and allowing others to be who they are without passing judgement.

3. How does the sacrament relate to stages of development?

The sacrament relate to stages of development by accepting God in our life and also by
receiving the seven sacraments in our life which are Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation,

Liturgy is an “ action ” of the whole Christ ( Christus totus ) Those wo even now
celebrate it without signs are already in the heavenly liturgy, where celebration is wholly communion
and feast. The celebrants of the heavenly liturgy.

How is it celebrated?

A Sacramental celebration is woven from signs and symbols. In keeping with

divine pedagogy of salvation, their meaning is rooted in the work of creation and in human
culture, specified by the events of the Old covenant and fully revealed in the person and work
of Christ.

When is it celebrated?

The Holy Mother Church believes that she should celebrate the saving work of
her divine Spouse in the sacred commemoration on certain days throughout the course of the
year. Once a week, on the day which she has called the Lord’s day, she keeps the memory of
the Lord’s resurrection. She also celebrates it once every year, together with his blessed
Passion, at Easter, that most solemn of all feasts.

Where is it celebrated?

We all know that a church is house of prayer in which the Eucharist is

celebrated and reserved, where the painful assemble, and where is worshipped the presence of
God our Saviour, offered for us on the sacrificial altar for the help and consolation of the
faithful – this house ought to be in good taste and a worthy place for prayer and sacred
ceremonial.” In this “house of God” the truth and the harmony of the signs that make it up
should show Christ to be present and active in this place.
